Y'all have any tips? Fellow parents of the OT, help me!

This dude is so sleepy he's made himself miserable, but he just won't go to sleep.

He's visibly sleepy, has been fed, changed, is comfortable in his boppy pillow with a comfy blanket and his favorite stuffed buzz lightyear he loves to cuddle with. I've checked all the boxes, but he just continues to fight falling asleep.

He does this just about every night recently, until he can't fight it anymore and passes out at about 2am. It hasn't been like this until the last few days.

What was your go-to when it came to getting your babies to fall asleep - other than just waiting them out?

Gas, reflux or something gastro related?
We had to get one of those wedge pillow and slings things for our first who was doing the same things. Miracle worker.

Noise machine and rock the baby to sleep before putting down gently. Make sure the kid isn’t hungry and is burped.

White noise machine or just YouTube it on your phone. Rock him. We started using a sleep sack at some point but when he was younger we used a swaddle thing that worked well, it wraps them up tight - I don't remember how many months old when we made the switch, maybe 4 or 5. It also helped with mine if you gave him a few sips of a bottle. He wouldn't finish it or anything but taking a last few sips would put him out - while rocking. good luck

^^^ and if he was slightly fussy, we use "Gripe Water" night time version. It's a liquid that we get at Target. Put 2.5 ounces or so in a syringe and he loved it and it settled him down.

Put him in his swing, wind it up, get out your guitar and play Mr. Tambourine Man.

There isn't a secret. Some babies sleep, some don't. They are all different.

Edit to add- my child didn't sleep through the night until he was 3.5 years old. Not 3.5 weeks or 3.5 months, but 3.5 years. Years.

We absolutely give him the night time gripe water, it makes him sleepy like he is currently but he fights through it no matter what we do. He doesn't seem gassy and has been burped religiously, and rocked. It's maddening.

He has a white noise machine but seemed to sleep better with voices in the background (like very soft TV), currently neither works.

For example, I just rocked him for maybe 30 minutes and he seemed to be asleep until I went to put him in his bassinet - suddenly wide awake.

He does this exact same thing repeatedly

We got a Baby Merlin sleep suit and it worked really well at that age. I have an 8 month old now.

My oldest, I used to have to hold her and walk around. I’d do 800 laps around the house, it felt like.

My youngest, I’d have to sit in my lazyboy holding her a certain way.

Overtired is 100 percent a thing. Think of how grumpy you are when exhausted. Babies are no different. .

You aren't doing anything wrong, and there is no fix.

Will have to check that out, thank you.

And thanks for all the other suggestions so far here.

Before about a week ago when all this started, we could just wait him out until about 10pm and walk him around the living room while rocking him and it would work like a charm.

Now that doesn't do anything and he just hangs out with his eyes open

step one: Lay him in his bassinet

step two: let him cry. It sucks, every parent hates it, but you just have to go through it. He will fall asleep eventually. Could take 30 minutes, could take 2 hours.

Do this and he learns to fall asleep on his own. Don't do it, and you are fricked.

PS- God Bless, it is hard. Be there for your wife, it is harder for her.

ETA: Letting my son cry was as hard as quitting smoking. But it was just as rewarding
