Saw some old clips of Magic Johnson NCAA days.
Got to talking with my buddy about his HIV diagnosis etc.
How it was death sentence at the time.
How HAART likely saved him and turned it to a largely manageable condition.

However, I can't think of a single athlete that's admitted to being HIV positive since.
I find it unbelievable there haven't been any.

While these guys aren't gay, or IV drug users they lay pipe like none other. They clearly frick raw dog as they have kids out of wedlock.

Have there been any?
Would teams cut a player?

Thoughts?

Except for the extremely unlucky people like Ryan White and Arthur Ashe (and with blood screening, there simply aren’t any more of these cases), it’s really tough to get HIV if you aren’t using needles or having sex with men.

Have you seen Magic’s “Son”??

Something might just run in the family.

I think they pool samples and antibody test. So, HIV infection prior to antibody formation would sneak through.

I think it's about 1 in 500k odds.
I looked up after my wife had to get blood after childbirth.

True.
It's supposedly 1 in 2500 vaginal female to male transmission

Straight men don't get HIV through intercourse. Magic def paid the price for having sugar in his tank.

I've been drinking and I know I will be crushed for this.

I once had protected sex with a girl I knew was HIV positive. She told me up front and it wasn't a hit and quit. We knew each other and I actually took her to her prom as kids. She was hot and I felt the risk was negligible.

It's weird.
Lots of "risk assessment" is based upon perception. It's HIV so it's got a stigma.

She likely was on treatment so viral load low to undetectable (depends on when this was).

Vaginal female to male is supposedly 1 in 2500.

Condom effectiveness say 98%.

That would put risk at 1 in 125,000

That's assuming not on HAART that would lower viral load and potentially make her undetectable (non infectious). Odds of dieing in car crash another 1 in 100,000/month.

While "risky" really wasn't crazy risky because used condom.

Honestly never even thought about it after. I was in the navy at the time and I would have known.

She was so cool. I have no idea how it happened to her. It was mostly a I couldn't tell her no thing. I didn't persue it.
