What are you giving your dogs to chew on? I have read that rawhides are not good for them. I have a lab that’s gets a bit anxious during the day when left home. Looking for something she can chew on that will hold up through the day.

My Ridgeback's love hooves and they are the one thing they can't eat like a candy bar. There are also plenty of digestible "rawhide" alternatives on the market.

ETA they say dogs can break their teeth on hooves but I have been using them with Ridgebacks for 30 years with no issues.

CET sticks are what the vet recommended. If they chew a lot then nylabone “extreme chewer” strength.

My lab pup has been on the Frankly pet chews since she was 4 months They resemble raw hide but are made from collagen so it is digested instead of passed. LINK

Second the hooves. My Heeler has never taken to chewing on nylabones or really any toy for that matter, but she’ll chew on a hoof for hours.

Hooves smell like piss when they get chewed on though, so that’s a downside.

I do this one for longer chews. Basically one she keeps coming back to for a while. She's a small dog, so these last a while.

And I do this one when she's being a pain and I need to occupy her. It is more like a treat, so she finishes it faster, but still takes about 10-15 minutes.

Since you have a big dog, I don't recommend these since it won't last 2 minutes. But they're good for treats.

My dog chews rawhides all the time & no issues other than trying to swallow the last piece while it's still too big and then coughs it up.

FWIW my dog doesn't touch toys/bones at all while I am gone. As soon as I get home will play with every toy

I give my dogs frozen beef marrow bones that I get from my local butcher shop. Never had any issues with them and the dogs love them. I've also found them at some pet stores although they are much more expensive there. Some grocery stores will sell them to you as well.

Our supermutt regards his Nylabone football as the most important thing in his life. He won't even let it go on walks. He will only drop it to eat or drink water.

We've had to get him a new one because he chewed the first one so much it tore in half. He's about to pop the second.

Yea mine has been chewing rawhides since I got him but also only will do it when I'm around or home. He just leaves the nubs for me at the end to throw out.

He's so good
