How you baws have energy after work to do hobbies? I don’t even want to leave the house. Video games also require brain which I don’t have, I have a quarterly vacation I used to look forward to but now it’s all whatever.

Does it get better once you retire or what

Been there before.

Don't let a job ruin your life. Work to live, not live to work.

You are either working too hard or you are kinda lazy.

I repainted my house, laid new hardwood floors, stripped and repainted cabinets, etc, last fall and most of it I did when I got home from work so I could still watch football on the weekends.

I usually have a project that has nothing to do with work waiting for me at home. Definitely a stress reliever and helps me forget about any problems at work. Also, work out baw.

Not unless you change yourself first. You take yourself with you wherever you go. Changing external things and expecting that to bring lasting happiness is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

All my energy is focused on health and work. I have no time for anybody’s nonsense anymore. I enjoy saying no to invitations now. It took some trauma for me to realize that I needed to draw a circle around my life and protect it. Here’s to a smaller and more manageable life in 2024.

You may be malnourished. I am 51 and work 40+ hours/week, have custody of our 14 and 15 year old boys who play all three sports, and I built my house by myself in a years time mostly on weekends and vacation hours. However, I did not paint, hang sheetrock, or do the rock work. I never felt like I didn't have the energy to do it. You might want to try taking vitamins, they really do make a difference.

Definitely need some self reflection. I am sure we have all been where you are for a period of time, but if it drags on for more than a few weeks (was going to say days, but sometimes you just have a lot of stress) you need to figure out what needs to change. Look at your current employer, current career and trajectory, diet, exercise, hormone balances, nutrition levels, family issues, other outside stimuli, etc. Something(s) is dragging you down, and you need to get ahead of it, but no one on here can help/advise you until you figure it out either by looking internally or seeking help from friends, family, professionals.

Sometimes the hardest part is diving in or getting started…esp if you hate or have a really boring job. It puts you in that bored state where nothing seems interesting. Sometimes the less you do the less you feel like doing anything.

Force yourself out there. Force yourself to get started.

Lifting weights
Cold plunges
Drink a lot of water

I have been lazy as shite at points in my life. But doing the above 3 sure seem to help me. Also staying sober definitely enhances production.
