Anyone in the Baton Rouge metro area have any luck sourcing some live mud bugs? I called around my usual haunts and out of 6 places, only one had a sack and at $8.99/lb.

Anybody got the inside horse for this weekend?

Get it. That’s about the best you are going to find. Most places aren’t even selling live.

Crawfish is the most overhyped thing in history.

Boiled shrimp >>>>>> Crawfish

Shrimp is available 24/7/365 and you can do more with shrimp than you can do with crawfish.....

Crawfish is seasonal and a crawfish boil more of a social thing than a shrimp boil is

I saw Rouses had some already boiled and in the cooler the low price of 10.99 yesterday.

That is bad when some shellfish is more expensive than overpriced beef.

Nothing parts faster than a fool and his money.

$315 U.S. Dollars for a 35lb sack of crawfish.

You're not getting any cheaper than that. If you do, it's going to be garbage crawfish

Just wait. If youre needing them for a parade, everyone knows crawfish are basically not being consumed

Okay?

What does that have to do with my comment that crawfish are overhyped?

You can still do shrimp boil and invite people over lol

Comparing crawfish to shrimp is like comparing pork chops to steak

It's stupid

I would immediately be suspicious of anyone inviting me to a shrimp boil. This sounds like an upside down pineapple situation.

Because it takes about 10 minutes to stuff yourself on shrimp. Maybe less if you have fixings.

Crawfish is a sit around the table talking and peeling and eating for at least 45 minutes until your fingers are numb.

And then coming back an hour when you build up the stamina to snack on a few more.

Plus the seasonality of crawfish is what makes it special. People hype over King Cake when there's little difference to a cinnamon roll, other than seasonality.

I have boiled a few lobsters with a touch of liquid crab boil in the water; of course butter is still essential for dipping. It might sound expensive, but this year it cost less to fill up on lobster than crawfish.

You described why Louisiana is the fattest state in America. People here view food as a reason to have a social gathering instead of using it for its intended purposes. To keep your body working properly
