Did the Kansas tornado pass through ark city? I have a coaching buddy there that I’m worried about now.

If anything was down it would have been south of there between it and Newkirk.

Watch the cell merger on the warning near Eakly. It may take off in a bit.

I’m afraid this afternoon and tonight will be one of those where there are more ongoing tornadic storms than we can keep up with.

From NWS Norman

That last paragraph is very ominous.
quote:

Repeated rounds of thunderstorms are expected, and the public should not let their guard down after a storm has passed. Many public events are occurring today and with people out of the office/school, there is a high concern in our office of people being out on the roads or away from shelters. We urge those who can to remain near a shelter today as the environment resembles that of previous historic tornadic outbreaks. Please heed warnings!

Everything from Wichita Falls up to OKC and eastward to Tulsa is just totally untapped. I think it could get really rough as the dry line moves eastward and more storms fire.

I want to be clear I am NOT trying to talk negatively about weather radios but they seemingly relatively often have issues and everyone in the industry acts like they are the greatest things ever

I guess everything else has issues as well but still

That's the reality of it. Multiple ways to receive warning is the way. Weather radio, phone, tv. That'll cover most people.
