Answer:
1) 8m
From green bar, we can deduce that
the height of vertical bar = 2/3 of uninterrupted shadow length of the bar.
Therefore shadow of 6m of red bar indicates the height of 4m.
The remaining red bar casts a direct 1:1 vertical projection on the wall.
Therefore total length = 4m + 4m = 8m.
2) Answer is 8m long. This is because 3m of the horizontal shadow corresponds to 2m of height and the vertical shadow corresponds to 4m in height.
4m + 4m = 8m

I got 8m from eyeballing it.

I was told there would be no math.

To be fair, I think you could have just said "Yes" and your answer would have been technically correct.

cant be 8. if i measure the green bar and red bar, the red bar is 1" and the green bar = 3 5/16", not 4"

It is.
The 6m shadow from the green bar to the wall accounts for half its height (4m). The remaining 4m is accounted for on the shadow, which is a total of 4m + 4m = 8m.

I deduce that the green shadow is actually 3.50

How can we trust any other measurement if the red and green bars arent to scale?

Problem is shite. How were we supposed to know this>
Never assume, a-hole.
