They’re books about people that disappear mysteriously in remote areas. Nothing in the first few books gives supernatural explanations, they just pose questions.

The “Eastern US” and “North America and Beyond” books are available for free on the internet. I find the methodology flawed, but the stories are disturbing. These books are the basis for the famous Reddit nosleep sub’s “Search and Rescue” stories.

If you’ve read them, what was your take?

Edit: included links and a quick description of the content.

How could we read them if they are missing?

No I don’t have them.

Exactly. He could have at least given a brief synopsis of these books. And why does he just assume we know anything about Reddit?

Missing 411 is a series of books and films, which document cases of people who have gone missing in national parks and elsewhere, and assert that these cases are unusual and mysterious, contrary to data analysis which suggests that they are not actually statistically mysterious or even unexpected

I’ve read one and also have seen some video presentations and interviews with David Paulides. The Wikipedia link is below.

It’s fairly accurate but is unnecessarily dismissive referring to the Missing 411 phenomenon as a conspiracy theory and citing data analysis “experts” and presentations made at conferences that are devoted to skepticism of various and sundry things.

If Art Bell were still with us Missing 411 and Paulides would be regulars. Coast to Coast frequently has him on.

I don’t know if he’s not on to something. The “disappearances” are often odd. Children, barely toddlers, disappear and are found places they could not physically walk to. Many miles away, in rough inaccessible country, across multiple ridges and valleys and many thousands of feet higher than where they disappeared from.

They’re not all children and they’re not all In National Parks or in wilderness areas.

Many are highly unusual IMO.

Sorry that the first post was vague. I’ve updated it to include a brief summary and links.

I was on the subreddit 411 for a while as I was very curious about the missing hunter story on one of the new movies.

Basically be forewarned the subreddit Missing 411 is disguised as an open forum on the topic but it’s absolutely an anti David Paulides site that will accept any explanation other it’s weird. I honestly wonder if it’s some kind of park services site. Their explanation on the missing hunter was serial killer somehow got into area undetected and murdered him and took his body away, or maybe his family murdered him, or he just left the picket and fell into a hidden cave.

What we know:

1) Many parks were built on places that were known as supernatural by NAs. Not sure why

2) A lot of people disappear in parks

3) They didn’t even keep track of that until recently

4) some parks are sketchy as hell and have ridiculous number of people that disappear

I think it was Pauldides work that got them to start tracking it. There are some really strange stories.

No, but being a long time fan of Mr. Ballen, I'm at least familiar with them.

Feral people and their underground cities as well as portals are the cause for the national parks here in America.
