A heart warming story for the day...

Yesterday my nephew signed his letter of intent to play college basketball in the small audience gathered in a high school library was a 90+ year old man.
8 years ago this man lived across the street from my nephew. One day he heard the sound of a basketball being dribbled in his driveway. Even though he was over 80 at the time. He had his driveway striped with a hoop. My nephew just wanted to play. He came out and told him he could play any time he wanted and bring his friends.
He would sit on the porch and laugh and give pointers as the boys played.
It was a year before he realized that boy was my dad's grandson when dad came to pick him up. My dad was a former coach and acquaintance. The old man? A state hall of fame basketball coach.
That old man was at every one of my nephew's games and yesterday he was there to see him go to the next level.
Little things. Let the kids play in your yard.

This is easily 1000x better than the "mom throws her kid to the crocs" thread from yesterday.

legit CSB
When I was a kid we'd go talk to the old man across the street to learn new slurs and cusswords.
