It’s a narcotic and we are all either addicts or in recovery.

I’m not getting preachy or making any claims about myself, but it’s pretty much a given that everyone feels like shite in their “moment of truth” when watching porn versus using the old thinker, right?

There's such a wide range I don't think it's the same to say porn is unhealthy, not that I don't disagree.

Watching a girl flick the bean vs watching some weird midget cuck fetish shite.

I'm sure one of those is much more detrimental to someone's sex life than the other

Is porn the narcotic?
Or masterbation?

I don't think the analogy is correct.

Everyone masterbates. I think porn is the problem.

I mean masterbating in the library is probably a problem too.

That crap is poison. Seems more common with the younger generation.

I’ve fallen back into it. Not super heavy but I’d like to quit cold turkey. I think about quitting all of the time.

Anybody who has quit is it like nicotine? If you can break the 1-2 week window, your good? I get into such a bad place mentally with no sex or pron for more than a week or 2.

Why would anyone in a relationship watch that trash?

because many married men are sexual frustrated as they live almost as roommates. i have been married 15 years and luckily we have an amazing relationship but i have friends that are lucky to get it once a month, max.

hell i had a friend that got divorced after getting caught cheating and when his wife said they hadnt had sex in 7 years...i was like wtf did you expect? she of course thought sex was not important in a relationship which it wasnt to her....but was to her husband. Told her, my wife was lucky for me to go 7 days and at 7 weeks, unless its after a kid, im out. of course she got pissed and said im just as bad as him.

now..i will say prolly 70% of the time its because married men let themselves look like shite, they have no understanding of how to flirt, they have zero clue on how to help their wife and set the mood throughout the day and when they do help around the house they treat their wife like a prostitute where if they do the dishes and cook, they expect the wife to put out because "they did that for them, so she should do something for him"

there is absolutely nothing wrong with masturbation, even in a marriage. the key is dont bring someone else in the marriage bed, i.e. porn, another women etc....and communication with your partner.

now if you would rather masturbate than sleep with the wife...yea that a problem. but if you communicate with your partner about it, it can be a great way to bridge the gap between a high libido partner and the low libido partner, especially if the low libido partner is will to help with it.

I think either a few have misunderstood my point.

Or we completely disagree about the narcotic aspect.

There is no dopamine or serotonin release to porn.
There is dopamine and serotonin released in an orgasm.

Porn isn't the drug. Orgasm is.

Nothing is healthy in excess. Even sex with a partner. Anything that releases hormones can develop addictive qualities. And addictive qualities can inhibit a quality life as one interacts with the world and one's self.

You sure about that?

Isn’t there a dopamine release when scrolling social media? Why wouldn’t there be one while jumping from one porn video to the next?

Porn is a psyop. I hadnt watched it in a while until I commented about my brother being a "bull" and how white dudes are cucks and people on here kept telling me I watch pron. I checked the pron sites and sure enough its a lot of that. Seems like an obvious psyop attack on whites/westerners. Its awful and I'm guessing young people are reluctantly consuming it. Who owns these companies? reddit is even worse on how skewed it is towards unhealthy pron

There were a few studies done at the end of 2023 and black guy/white woman porn and Trans porn were actively put into the algorithm and seen as suggestions the most even though they were not the most highly searched or watched.

I’m not opposed to interracial relationships at all on the first one but there’s an intentional agenda there.

The only dude wanting to see trans porn is a trans dude.

This is one of the things that pushed me to make an effort to quit. It became very clear that someone/something is pushing certain genres of porn (I’ll add the step-family stuff in there). I don’t believe it’s some tin-foil hat conspiracy but it definitely seems to be on purpose.

i can't speak to the spirituality of it for you, because i approach it as a christian married man who gets laid somewhat regularly, but i can make it months and months with no problems...

but then something i see can trigger a desire to get off and then you realize it's not real and you're an idiot for wasting your time on it.

i'll never pretend like i never have, never do, or never will look again, but i've never had withdrawal after avoiding it for a long time.

quitting tobacco and nicotine were worse for me.

i may be brushing it off but i view step family stuff as just liking to see an older dude with a younger woman or a dude liking to see older women more than some incestual sort of thing.

i'm out currently but i'm in my 40s and it girls like ana de armis or taylor swift look too young to me and i'm not that much older than them TBH.

in recent a back and forth with my wife where we were talking about attractive people in general, I mentioned that i thought Hannah Waddingham (owner of the FC on Ted Lasso) was exceptionally attractive and my wife stared at me like I said the same thing about a 16 year old.
