Curious, if a team has a player who commits a crime and is incarcerated, how does that impact his salary in relation to the team’s cap number? What would happen, God forbid, if a player becomes deceased? Is the team still bound to the previous salary cap number?

Depending on what they do with them, that would be the end of our soft reboot.

That's just the start of the rebuild IMO

They may be able to get out of the guaranteed portion for violation of personal conduct in the event of arrests, not deaths. For the bonus portions they can file for relief from the league, but I think the player would have to refund the money for it to come off the books.

That’s the risk of paying bonuses in 1 year and having the funds be spread over 5 years. Players leaves the team for any reason, that money needs to be accounted for since they spent the money

Yeah the problem is the bonus has already been used by teams, cap-wise. This amount has to be accounted for in the future or else is not a level playing field. The impact the player has on the team moving forward is irrelevant, as they're forfeiting the future payments to account for that.
