Every time I watch this young man play I come away impressed with his grittiness, poise in the pocket, and his throws.
He is twice the QB that Carr is at 25% of the cost.

Tampa's not even 7-3 with Baker and their defense is probably better than the Saints.

Or we could be 5-5 or worse with Baker Mayfield.
It's impossible to say what another QB would do in this system unless that QB was a prime elite QB. (i.e. Brees, Brady etc that elevates the players around him.)
IMO the Bucs have a good enough staff and system to hide Mayfields flaws that have kept him from becoming a better upper tier QB. The Saints do not have that so Carr looks like Carr.

he's not twice the qb carr is, but signing him would have been better so far. since we have carr i'll hope he can live up to his contract, but it doesn't look like it right now. his salary this year isn't even the bad part. we're gonna have to restructure/extend him just to get under the cap. we really need carr to be a week in-week out top 10 - 15ish type qb, which what i thought we were getting.
qbr - mayfield 15th, carr 20th
passer rating - mayfield 15th, carr 17th

no way in hell - Prime Drew would not be able to do well in this scheme right now. vanilla offense, subpar blocking - shitty route running by receivers. no-one is having much success with that. not saying we would be as bad, but im not sure we would be much better - lighter in bank account, but not a lot better
