Derek Carr threw for 3800 yards, 25 TDs and only 8 INTS.

The Saints made a 2 game improvement from last year.

Maybe it’s time to discuss what nobody is talking about- THE DEFENSE HAS REGRESSED. They are NOT the defense that they get credit for. ZERO pass rush. Can’t stop the run….

When you miss on 2 #1 picks at DE this will happen. We have good young talent but not much in between young and old as shite. We need a lot more talent in all areas of the Dline and a good young LB. Problem is we need more talent on Oline also. It sucks because we’ve taken our lines seriously for awhile now, just too many picks or FAs not panning out.

The most important defensive stat is points given up by your defense per game. Right?

Cam Jordan shite the bed.

Our O Line shite the bed early.

MT will never be what he was.

Took Carr and other offensive players (olave cough cough) some time to get the system down and get comfortable with whats new.

PCJr is hit and miss.

Lattimore was playing like an all pro and went down.

Good point. The Saints gave up a full point less per game this season than last

To me it’s being clutch and stopping opponents at the end of games to win. Obviously points given up and turnovers are huge also and we did well there. Just not many sacks and in key moments, fell apart

Our defense and offense reversed roles from the beginning to the end of the year. At the beginning, the defense was carrying us. At the end, the offense found a stride and the defense got exposed.

We have failed to add any juice or talent to the defense at some key positions. But because our OL is fricked, and we've drafted some meh defensive players in the past we can't even add anything to the defense to improve it, at least not this year. Missing on Turner and Davenport hurts just as much as missing on Penning. That shite can't happen anymore.

And who is calling defense and is really DC, that would be DA so blame should be on him and him alone

Cant believe I agree with Chad, but yeah. That pretty much describes what happened and some of the current issues. Problem is, Davenport and Turner have been whiffs so we're still stuck with a mid-Cam Jordan for another year or two.

We still need another WR. I like Perry but I just dont know if I believe in him to become a key piece. We dont have anyone to reliably open the middle up. Foster and Juwan are just OK. Thomas is probably gone. We need a Coleman or Odunze but we cant do that because we have to take OT with our first pick.

I think if they bring Baun back, get something out of Turner and have Lattimore back, the defense will still be good, but probably not great.

No one and I mean no one has been on Cams side like me. Go see my fight for him here early on. From draft to the years he was called a bust...on here. But he is not a starter anymore. And what does he bring as a 3rd downer? Nothing. I wish I lived next door to the guy and my daughter married him I think so much of him but Father Time is the ruler of all.

They also played a much worse schedule. Defense is getting extremely long in the tooth in a few spots.

Needed to add more to the d line before the season started.

Don't have the draft capital to fix both lines this draft. I can't believe they wasted the 19 pick and 40th pick on penning and foskey.

Not giving up on Penning. Dude can be I think a beast somewhere on the Oline.

Foskey looks like a whiff.

One of the most important issues is that thanks to the CBA developing players has become increasingly difficult, meaning drafts become more and more critical. Hendrickson certainly wasn't blowing anyone away at the start but look at him now

When your head coach is supposed to be a defensive genius and we sick on defense then what defense do you have to keep him? Many teams have already fired much better coaches than DA ever will be but we just keep him around because he’s a nice guy.

I don't think the Saints sucked on defense. Allen did alright.

Defense is getting older though. They can't keep missing on draft picks.

I just don't see how they are going to improve the defense with no money.
