He was beaten out by the following for OROY:

Garrett Wilson (Olave averaged more yards for reception and more yards per game)
Kenneth Walker III
Brock Purdy (lol he played in 6 regular season games lol)

Thoughts?

And wasted a pick on an OL that was injured all season and needs serious technique improvement. Philly won out big time on that trade.

Wilson and olave are interchangable.

But Purdy is laughable with the few games he played because you could give it to Houston or nyj rb

The team stunk and his accomplishments are gonna be off the radar.

Olave had a nice year.
I was more excited about Shahid the second half of the season. He is a weapon.

Olave is deserving of being a finalist, but the franchise has no juice. In NOLA you have to be above and beyond deserving (think obvious) to get notoriety.

Newsflash. Trading away picks is horrible. It's a crapshoot.

Why on earth do you guys spend so much time on this but don’t recognize him for the many things he’s excellent at.

Dude had 70+ catches and 1000+ yards as a rookie. Only the 14th player in NFL history to do that as a rookie.

I'd trade him since we don't have a QB to throw to him anyway. Bet we could make bank on him right now and use those picks to get a franchise QB.

Trade the roster away. Do it.

Shahid is better than Olave. Olave did not live up to the pick we gave up for him.

I love how we are able to tell this after 1 season as a pro.

I thought Wilson was the best receiver in the draft and the only one worth trading up for. But Wilson, Olave, and the Seattle rb were the 3 best offensive rookies this year.

Too many on this board judge players by their worst moments and ignore the many good plays.

It's possible we live in alternate universes but in mine, Brock Purdy has led his team to the NFC title game.

Isn't OROY a regular season award? And Purdy started in fewer than 1/3 of SF's games.
