Didn't know we would have our pick of any defensive player though

That match the profile of a universally thought of as a top 15 pick, and was picked in the top 15.

I'm just proud because they didn't trade up.

Yeah, I heard they might move him to free safety.

You do realize that its very common for tackles to move from one side to the other early in their career. If i recall, Willie Roaf started on the right side before moving to left early on.

I don’t think folks thought 3 OTs would be off the board and quite literally every single defensive player would be available at 14. It’s not that the Saints took a OT (they need one). It’s that they took the 4th best one when there were probably better players at other positions available.

Look at the Raiders. They didn’t necessarily want a TE. But when all the players at the positions they wanted were gone they didn’t panic and just take the 4th, 5th, 6th, best player at that position. They took the BPA

Yea, kinda

At least give me a failed LT that has to move to RT

A straight up RT is bad value esp with how this draft fell

He doesn’t even fill a specific need because he could very well end up at G. If you’re going to force a need at least take a guy that’s going to be a locked in starter

He’s going to be a RT. A very specific need.

There are a lot of tackle scouting reports that have the "could be a guard" designation. These are for CYA purposes, since lineman often move. If 10 tackles are drafted and 1 moves to guard, the scout can say "Hey I called it!", even though on 9 of the tackles, the scout said he could be a guard.
