I'd take Bowers if he was there.

I'd be absolutely shocked if bowers is there at 14. If the saints don't run to the podium they have zero sense.

Ladd mcconkey is just a mini Brock bowers lite to me.

for awhile I thought the Chargers would go WR or even take Bowers because Gerald Everett and Keenan Allen both went to the Bears.

But I could see the Chargers picking Joe Alt if they don't trade down.

I think you're going to be surprised how far Bowers falls. For all his production, he has average to below average size and athleticism.

I don't even know what this means. They both played for Georgia?

Poster thinks since they’re both white and went to UGA- they’re the same player. This is type of analysis we have on this board.

He’s 6’3” 243

Laporta 6’3” 245
Trey McBride 6’3” 246
Dalton Kincaid 6’3” 246
Evan Engram 6’3” 234
Kittle 6’4” 247
Njoku 6’4” 246

Your TE leader in receptions, yards and TDs are all nearly the same size as Bowers.

Bowers ran 4.55 and had a 40 inch vert as a sophomore in high school or you could just watch his tape and him running away from and Mossin DBs

You really said that with some chest though

If fashanu is there at 14 I'm taking him.

Just watch the Michigan game. Also like the Washington tackle.

Actually no. If you watch their body types or the way they run routes.

They operate in similar areas. To ME he looks like a mini Brock bowers.

I bet mcconkey is very successful in the nfl.

Yeah not sure how you see that. Mcconkey has size and strength issues. Doesn’t really make contested catches, doesn’t get much separation and isn’t great after the catch. Hes a good route runner but size/physicality are big issues with him. He struggles mightily with press man. Not sure how you think that’s comparable to Bowers.

Over the last 10 NFL Drafts only 4 tight ends have been selected in the first round before pick 20:

Eric Ebron, 10th overall, Detroit Lions (2014) - 6'4" 250, 4.6
O.J. Howard, 19th overall, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017) - 6'6" 251, 4.5
T.J. Hockenson, eighth overall, Detroit Lions (2019) - 6'5 250, 4.7
Kyle Pitts, fourth overall, Atlanta Falcons (2021) - 6'6" 245, 4.44

For a top 10 pick at TE, which is what people are suggesting, Bowers would be the smallest with equivalent (average) athleticism. And these have mostly been disappointments. Just nothing special to justify an high pick.

If you want the Saints to get a Kittle or Laporta, wait till the 2nd or 5th round.

That's how I roll 247.

We can maybe safely assume that 9 players will be off the board.

caleb, jayden, drake, mccarthy
marvin harrison, malik nabers, rome odunze
joe alt and dallas turner

That's 9.

that leaves a depth chart of 5.

maybe a 5th qb is drafted ahead but not likely. bowers is likely to be picked ahead but not certainty.

Leaves:
Bowers
CB1
DE 2
OL #2 or #3
WR #4
and even DT #1 (Byron Murphy likely) as our most logical options.

They’re almost guaranteed to take OL if Turner, Bowers type doesn’t fall. They would send the envelope in 5 seconds in Turner is there. I think they’d be torn if bowers is there

Given the depth of OL in that range, I could see a trade down of 8-10 spots

The #Vikings flew out their whole staff for a private workout with Michael Penix Jr. in Seattle, including HC Kevin O’Connell and GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, sources say.

I’m told Penix has a top 30 with the #Raiders today, who currently hold the 13th pick in the draft.

I really wish Olu would fall to us but I think he goes after Alt despite the mocks having Fuaga 2nd.

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have implied he had average size. His size is dramatically below average.

TEs are about to dominate the League even more with the new rules this year. It would be nice to have a really good one.

Yeah it’s easy to run 4.4 and have a 40” vert at 243. All of his measured movements would flirt with 99%

Like I already told you, the best TEs in the league are the same size. This isn’t 2005 where your TEs wear neck rolls and line up inline every snap. Guys like Micah parsons are coming into the league at 245. It’s a smaller game on the edges now
