Theres no point in keeping him on the roster after today.

Against Houston’s scrubs. A team most people think will be the worst in the leagie.

A mannequin could do a better job.

Danny Wuerffel.

There’s a story that Mike Ditka had a bet going with New Orleans sportswriters who said there was no way Wuerffel would be among the top 100 players picked. Ditka picked him at 99 to win the bet.

The best description I ever heard of Wuerffel was that he was playing at 33 1/3 rpm while the game was being played at 45. If you saw him play in person, you’d agree.

Dave Wilson was another one who was pretty bad. As were both of the Billy Joes.

Danny was real real bad. Noodle arm, couldn’t read a defense and was a statue in the pocket. But according to Ditka, “he’s a winner” and that’s what we needed

Agree but tonight wasn’t about winning. We learned a lot. Freeing up a roster spot by cutting Book was most valuable learning experience.

Was McPherson the one that lined up behind the guard and called for the snap?
