Agree this loss was not on Zion. I think we can all agree that 1 rebound is not good enough .
season by season , game by game it becomes more and more apparent that he will not reach his ceiling and the hope we all had when he was drafted .

His ceiling when he was drafted was the greatest player of all time.. so how realistic was it to assume he was gonna reach that?

Some people just look for something about Zion to bitch about. Maybe you would be happy if he had 12 rebounds and no points?

I agree with this. His talent is once in a generation. If he had Lebrons work ethic, he'd have a jumpshot by now, average 10 plus rebounds by now, and would have had us in the Finals by now. I am not joking he legimately has that much gravity already without a jumpshot and weighting 295 plus. Just listen to Barkley and Shaq, dude is not playing to his potential so far now. If Ja potential is perrienal all star with a few playoff appearances and MVP contention. Zion is MVP potential with a few finals/rings under his belt. He's basically on the Ben Simmons/Blake Griffin projectory right now. All he needs is that one injury.

1 rebound from your best player in a tight loss is definitely fair game for criticism.

We should expect more from Zion and more importantly, he should Expect more from himself.

1 rebound from a starting guard is embarrassing. 1 rebound from a bigger and more athletic Charles Barkley is a mental/mentality issue.

He is 6 feet , 6 inches tall at best. What other players that height, do we expect a lot of rebounds.

Are you saying it's too much to ask for Zion to lead the team in points AND get more than 1 rebound?

One of the biggest reasons we lost a very close game is we couldn't get a defensive rebound, you don't think Zion grabbing more than 1 rebound could have potentially made a difference?

You don't think getting 1 rebound in a game for a dude like Zion comes down simply to an effort issue?

plaWhat other 6'6 players are as big and powerful as Zion?

it's wild to make an excuse for your power forward getting ONE rebound. Like why, why would anyone feel the need to make an excuse for that?

Do I need to go over again all of the small point guards who have a higher defensive rebound % than Zion this season? I've done it over and over.

Jrue
Jalen Green
Cole Anthony
Kevin freaking Huerter
Brandin Podziemski

All dudes who have a higher DRB% than Zion. Stop making excuses for Zion's lack of effort, it arguably cost us a game last night. If he just tries and gets a few more rebounds that were offensive boards for Dallas, we potentially win that game.

If we can ONLY ask Zion to score 30 and when he scores 30, we can't expect him to do anything else, and not even grab more than 1 rebound, then you should also think we have a HUGE Zion problem because that's not a top 30-40 NBA player if you have a guy who can only score and is bad at everything else.

My assumption is that it's a matter of conditioning. Rebounding and banging takes effort. He's just now getting to the point that he can play adequate defense. Hopefully, rebounding effort is next.

The excuses for Zion’s lack of effort are just funny at this point

Zion has been making great effort since the Las Vegas debacle. Watch the games before commenting.

This is what I talk about when I keep posting about how low we're setting the bar for Zion.

Compared to pre IST Zion, yes his effort is great.

Compared to just general effort given in NBA games, Zion's effort is nowhere near "great" and it's really below average still right now, even as we commend him for giving more effort than his usual very low effort.
