Was checking my email this morning and saw this acrticle titled "Pelicans concerned about Zion Williamson measuring more than 300 pounds." It says that there are sources saying he is over 300 pounds now. That would possibly make him the heaviest player in the NBA currently. I'm not the type to bash his weight, but that weight will cause him to have health issues earlier rather than later.

Its from a hit piece article from Jake Fischer siting very vague "concerned rival execs".

Seems a bit concerning that most of our main Pels media guys we use here for Pels news were pretty quick to retweet and talk about how good of an article it IMO.

It can be a hit piece and also not just be a bunch of made up stuff.

1. He was already top 2-3 in weight before he got hurt.

2. I’d be surprised if he weighs more than Tacko Fall.

Fall is in the G league for the Cavs. So I am not sure if he counts.

But Fall is officially listed at 311 lbs (at 7'5). Given the current pictures. Zion might be pretty close to passing that up.

I saw a whole segment where they talked about Zions weight. Compared him to Barkley, when he first got to the Sixers. Malone gave him a ton of shite, made Barkley lose weight. We really needed a strong player to get this across to Zion. That's why we all wanted someone like a Horford or Millsap. It is most effective coming from a peer..

It can be true and be a hit piece. Have you read the article?

First of all, it was released on the morning of our first game, when it was pretty clearly written at least a week ago.

Second, everything in it was extremely vague and from "rival executives" and their "concerns". It was CLEARLY calculated from other execs to keep the heat on in the hopes that the situation sours further.

I haven’t, that’s why I asked

It’s perfectly believable he is at it around that weight

I agree, that's why I said it can have truth to it and still be a hit piece.

The way it was written, its pretty clear what the intent from rival execs and all of the "sources" in it, along with the timing.

Even though it clearly says it is based on one person's opinion of what he saw? These hacks that "cover" the Pelicans will retweet anything that makes the Pelicans look bad since Griffin made them look so incompetent.

I predicted here on TD when Zion was drafted that he would never play a full season and would be out of the league in 6-8 years.

That body type/weight and style of play don't flow very well.

I didn't reference any one thing for my comment. It was talking about the article as a whole.

Tacko Fall is an afterthought; 'Taco' Zion Williamson is a "Generational Player". Apple and Oranges.
