are you being serious here, saying Dyson Daniels can take Larry Nance Jr's role as our backup 5?

No I mentioned him playing the backup PF role which he has. He has also played small 5 (terribly). We are more than likely going to see a cheap backup at the backup 5 (obviously).

Not that it really matters if we are truly going to play 5 out next year. He will be somewhere in the corner behind the 3 point line.

Edit: Larry is not a 5, no matter how hard the Pelicans tried to make him be.

If Dyson is even on the team next year. I wouldn’t be surprised if hes tossed in a trade package with BI. Could be nothing but found it interesting Griff talked about Trey and Hawkins but no mention of Dyson at all.

Anytime Larry has played the 4 for us, it's been terrible.

Dyson is not a backup 4 for anyone. Yes he can guard some small ball 4's out there, but that's not what he is in the league.
And as my best friend Pels_Yaz said, there's a good chance Dyson isn't with us next year. I think they'll decide if they want to keep Dyson or Naji going forward, but it won't be both.

Seems like at least 2 people havent been paying attention to the role Larry plays.
Have you been paying attention to the games? Dyson has not played that role for any significant minutes this year, other than maybe very sparingly in a small ball lineup.

Even though Dyson can hold his own against bigs on switches, him being a permanent backup big should not be plan A. And I say that as someone that can see him bulking up long term and being a small ball 5. But that's in small doses. He's an elite wing defender, using him against back up bigs regularly is just not the best use of what he brings.
