Morant is the safer pick

Down vote all you want but Morant has a shot and his all around game projects better in the NBA. If you draft Zion then you are praying he develops a shot. I don’t believe Zion is the guy you build a team around. He’s going to probably be a good maybe great player. I feel Zion is a great rim player and a super freak athletically. I just don’t want to be stuck with a 6’7 Zion that hasn’t developed a shot. People act like it’s some easy thing that happens overnight but look at Simmons still struggling. I think Morants going to be an All Star and house hold name in the NBA very quickly.

It’s not a troll attempt at all. If we draft Zion we are hoping his shot develops. Morant is going to avg close to a triple double in the NBA.

I figured this was coming and I don’t necessarily think it’s the craziest idea in the world
But man, I’d rather be wrong with Zion than be the Jordan/Durant-less Portland Trailblazers

Did you say develops a shot. Did you not watch this kid play all year. His shot is what makes him the player he is. Power and shooting ability.

If the knicks help us out we might get both

I totally understand the dilemma of being “wrong” about passing on Zion. I promise you though it’s going to be brought up constantly in front office.

The kid can fricking shoot. Lol what a shitty thread

He shot 64% from FT line and 32% from 3?
Again, Zion around the rim is incredible and special. I think the defense is the most underrated part of his game. But let’s be objective about the shooting.

He is probably a the same 3 point shooter Lebrun was at this point.
Lebron came into the league a 29% shooter and .75% ft shooter.

33.8% from 3. Not bad at all as a freshman.

He is also a great ball handler and looks to kick it to open team mates too. The guy is going to be fun to watch in New Orleans

dont worry, Grif the great will find a way to get JaM too

RJ Barrett is also a safe pick. Many (including myself) thought he was the better/more skilled player early on but then Zion's physicality took over and he dominated. Can't pass on Zion, IMO.

Zion is the NBA's next Lebron, let's not be fricking stupid like this OP

You do realize those numbers are not bad for a college freshman big man.
AD shot 15% from 3 in college.

I look at it one of two ways. I think Morant is the absolutely the safer of the two. But he's not going to bring in any stars with him. He's an Allen Iverson or think the PG version of AD. He's going to ball out but he's not going to win you a championship and he's not going to bring anybody in. He's not an organization-changer.
Zion could be that. He could be the next Anthony Bennett. Or he could be the next superstar of the NBA, the guy that helps bring in a key FA or two that helps him win a championship here and completely changes the trajectory of our organization. He's a potential Giannis. He's also a potential Anthony Bennett that could sink our franchise.
I'm willing to take that risk rather than wash, rinse, repeat of the AD situation with Morant.
