I think people are setting themselves up for a disappointing off-season

Griff and Co aren't gonna get what they consider "fair value" for BI. Any trade would be considered a downgrade in talent, even if it makes the team better because of fit. And I just can't see Griff making any deal that he doesn't perceive as a slam dunk, that involves BI.

I think we'll hear the same old optimistic story.. "we were looking great and then got hit with injuries right at the start of the playoffs. We've increased our wins each of the last three years. So we're gonna run it back."

Y'all know its coming, as much as we hate to admit it. The team we see tonight, will be the same team we see next season, with a possible change at the center position. That's it.

I don’t know man, a playoff game is not going to sell out and they can’t even sell tickets to it at $7 a ticket

Also rumors are the season ticket sales are horrible next year. They pretty much HAVE to do something, there’s no way the FO can overlook all the fans on social media calling for an Ingram trade while simultaneously seeing ticket sales to the biggest game of the season flop and think that everything is fine.

I don’t disagree but there is world that either BI doesn’t agree to extension or wants to be traded. Meaning it won’t matter what Griffin wants if BI wants to make a change. Considering he was benched and basically has lost this team to Zion, he may force Griffin’s hand in just running this back.

So I was thinking about this and then I thought about the Saints season. When Lion fans were taking all the tickets to that game and fans were frustrated as hell. Yet, what did the Saints do? They ran it back.

Honestly my only hope is BI doesn’t want the extension or wants to get traded- forcing Griffin to make big changes. Im betting on BI wanting to move on more than anything else.

Did they?

They fired the entire offensive staff and brought in a guy that will be fully autonomous on that end of the field. That’s a MAJOR change, that’s definitely not just running it back.

Was just about to say something similar. The Saints and the FO/ownership response to their collapse and the fan outrage, kinda proves they don't care about that. They will talk themselves into running it back because we've improved by 6-7 wins each of the last three years. Griff is an eternal optimist and salesman. He will sell ownership on the positive aspects of this season and we'll be watching the same roster and same staff next year.

Lol thats not a major change. NFL Playoff teams did this. So Willie gets a new staff? You think thats a major change???

Firing Allen would have been a big change. Everyone knows Allen isn’t the answer except for Loomis.

NFL and NBA are completely different sports bud.

An entire new coaching staff on one side of the ball that actually runs that side in the NFL is a huge change, no matter how you want to look at it. It’s one step below changing the HC, but with the defensive play and the salary cap situations, you couldn’t get rid of DA just yet.

Now this offseason all bets are off as they’ve set themselves up to be able to go full rebuild if needed.

Dennis Allen completely changed his defensive staff and DC the year before. So according to you they’ve had 2 major changes? Is that right?

I’m not trying to pick a fight but getting a new OC is not considered a major change- teams do this a lot. Its pretty much in the norm except for the Saints.

On to the pels- major change means in both sports- changing HCs, GM or trading star players. The Saints didn’t do this and unless BI asks out it wouldn’t surprise me if Pels didn’t either.

DA is the defensive coordinator.

The changes that were made last season is akin to an NBA team changing out their player development coaches

Lol we’ll stop with the nfl comparisons because you wont agree. By the way DA job title is head coach.

A major change on a pro sports team to MOST people is changing HC, the GM or losing/releasing/trading star players. My point was Saints did not make a MAJOR change (again new OC is not major- its what Loomis will sell the fans on but its not) and hence why the pels won’t do anything as well. Considering they were more successful this season than the Saints there’s even less of a chance of them making major changes.

I think this is the most likely scenario. I do think BI’s camp will put out some demands/smoke about a trade and he will act out a bit for a month or two, but frankly BI isn’t good enough to go fully toxic. There will be a we are all friends again work out summit shortly after the draft, maybe during summer league.

I will say running it back isn’t the most offensive option this offseason. If Griff trades away our control of the bucks 26/27 picks to marginally improve the roster around a Zion/BI/CJ core I will absolutely riot.

Brandon is a 1-2 on the right team, just not this team.
