Gobert wins on his past not his play now.

Honestly to me Gobert been more mobile this year than hes been in past years. In fact, hes not being played off the floor like he was in Utah and hes also a huge defensive leader on the best defensive team in the league.

I know people hate on Gobert but hes been pretty damn good this year. There was a play in game 1 against nuggets where he defended jokic, jokic threw the lob to gordon and then he went and broke up the lob. That stuff is so difficult to do for a big guy his size.

Does it matter if you are fourth or fifth in all defense team voting? You’re still on the first team

Nope...but the point of my post was trying to form an opinion on whether or not Herb would make 1st team all-defense. Before this vote result on DPOY...I woulda had Herb at 50/50 on making 1st team...probably sneak in at 5. Now...I think he'll easily make it & probably finish 4 or even 3 in total vote.

I'd REALLY like to see Herb make 1st team...and the DPOY results increase his chances...imo. My original post was just an attempt to give a logical reason for thinking Herb's chances to make 1st team all-defense have improved. I agree that there's not much difference between finishing 5th or 4th...which is a different subject from what I was trying to discuss.

I'm, obviously, kinda sweatin' this all-defense vote for Herb, for reasons I won't go into. The first "win" is the toughest for these type awards...usually they get easier to repeat once you get that first one under your belt.
