Any Atlanta trade starts with Herb

Then why did they get nothing but shite offers for Murray? Everyone thought the Lakers were getting him for nothing at the deadline.

I’m just stating what Atlanta is demanding from Pels…. Whether it’s Trae or Murray Herb is the piece they want the most

Now, will you be able to get them to budge with a BI for Trae trade? Probably so as it looks like they would rather move Trae than Murray which is why they had insane demands for Murray at the deadline

If Willie Green is the head coach- thats a HUGE IF- I cant see them getting Trae especially with his defensive issues. Now if our coach is different or more offensive minded I can see this happening.

So basically the same as BI and CJ on defense?

The same, but much much worse lol

I don’t see CJ having much trade value is the problem.
I'm 100% certain there is at least 1 team out there that would gladly take the best 3pt shooter in the NBA from last season on their team and at least give up a little something for that guy.

It only takes 1.

ETA: I'm not saying we can use CJ to get a better player than CJ somehow. Just pointing out that it's not like we'd have to attach 1sts to get off of CJ, no chance I see that happening.

BI for Murray+Okongwu works salary wise. Could make some sense for both teams.

Murray/Trey/Herb/Zion/Okongwu
I'm not sure we can get Murray and Okwongwu without parting ways with someone like Herb.

A better team that can use him like a true 3rd or 4th option would prob be interested. He's more like our 2nd option due to constant injuries.

I don’t know man without Herb, defensively this is an atrocious lineup. Im assuming the center would be Okungwu.

Yea I’m not giving up Herb. I’m almost 100% sure Griff did not have BI in any discussions at the deadline. That might be why they wanted Trey or Herb. It’s different now. He has to trade him or extend him which is a worse case scenario for us.

Both of these teams are poorly constructed and shoujd be motivated to swap parts.

My ideal lineup IF we have to send Herb out also would be Dyson, Murray, Trey, Zion, Center(would definitely want Okongwu back)

CJ, Hawk, Naji, Matt, Jose, Nance off the bench

Unless Dyson takes a Herb like leap next year- there will be some major major spacing issues in the starting lineup.

I think you're leaning too hard on that MM scenario. Remember that at the time the Pels were trying to turn JV and stuff into a better center. If the discussion was JV + Dyson or Hawkins + picks and stuff for Murray/Okongwu, I can the see the Hawks demanding a playoff starting caliber player instead of Dyson/Hawkins. If the Pels weren't seriously entertaining moving the Big 3, then that would leave Herb and Trey. The Hawks probably need Herb's skill set more than Trey's.

If we go back to them with a package of BI and Nance instead of JV and Dyson/Hawkins, I suspect you can have a different conversation.

Spacing definitely would become an issue but we would also be better on defense.

Ideally I would hope Hawk takes enough of a defensive step to play alongside Murray and insert him into that lineup in place of Dyson, and have a bench of CJ, Dyson, Matt, Naji, Jose, Nance

I would hope we can, but it would be hard to tell if they would even be interested in BI.

I wonder if a BI and Nance for Murray and Hunter would intrigue them? Then we could probably flip Hunter to Cleveland for Allen, as one area Cleveland lacks depth is a defensive wing.

This would be a best case scenario for us and the kinda trade Griff shoujd be shooting for.

Just because MM claims that, does not make it fact.

If Atlanta has interest in BI (not sure if they do or will), maybe we could get involved with a team that may be interested in Trae and do a 3-way deal.
