Guess I’ll be the only one at the Billy Joel concert in Houston this September.

If I can't sell my set I may drive down solo and drive back after the show. You will have fun, they put on a great show and the people watching is superb

Smashing Pumpkinsa and Janes Addiction, October in Houston.

Really wanna see The Scorpions when they come to the city too but not sure that I can afford both. Plus, I have no interest in the opener, Whitesnake.

Sum 41 and Simple Plan at the Orpheum Theater in New Orleans on May 27
Just found out about this. Sum 41 has not aged well but I used to blast the shite out of their first two albums. Probably going to go just for the nostalgia.

Edit: Does This Look Infected? is still pretty good.

Sum 41 is one of the few bands that has managed to mature with their music over time in a way that didn’t remain stagnant nor alienated older fans. Their last two albums (Order in Decline and 13 Voices) are some of their best work to date. If you ever liked them at all, I recommend checking those albums out. Sum 41 always had a lot more elements of classic metal in their songs than the other pop punk bands, and that metal influence has only gotten better and stronger over time. They’re basically a 21st century Judas Priest, still putting out awesome music to a ravid fan base.

Admittingly I haven't kept up with their music since Underclass Hero. The song you linked was surprisingly heavy. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm going to see Smith McKay All Day on Saturday. It's Jimmy Smith from the Gourds new duo. And Max Johnston from the Gourds, Wilco and Uncle Tupelo is sitting in with them. They are ok, he will do a couple of his Gourds songs but I'm mostly going because I know Jimmy and Max is my neighbor.

Paul Mccartney tonight in Winston-Salem

I went to this. Almost got fricked because there wasn’t enough parking to accommodate the demand. Left the hotel two hours before start time and still missed the first four songs. There had to have been hundreds of not thousands who missed it altogether.

Amazing show though.
