I had no idea Rivers Cuomo was such a great guitarist. Brian Bell was no slouch on his Gibson Explorer either. Josh Homme is a great showman and If I Had a Tail was the highlight for Queens. I may have to go back and see Weezer on their later US tour with Dinosaur Jr opening even though i have recently seen both bands. That will be epic guitar shredding night. Royal Blood was a trip with just a lead singer/bassist and a drummer. Mike Kerr makes that bass sound like a guitar. I found The Offspring to be a bit predictable, and I am pissed friends made me miss Sunny Day Real Estate for that nostalgia even though they rocked.

I'm pretty sure Rivers is high functioning autistic. He is an incredibly strange person but is obsessive about his guitar work and song-writing. He's also obsessed with being well-received by fans, which is good sometimes and bad as well, as it can negatively affect songwriting, such as the turd that was SZNZ in 2022. I hope he gets back to putting more albums out like OK Human, White Album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, Blue, and Pinkerton.

I'm seeing them this fall on the tour with Dinosaur Jr and Flaming Lips. I've never seen them before, so I'm excited about this one. I think they are playing the whole blue album too.

If you have never seen any of those three, you are in for a treat. Three awesome live bands.

Rivers is for sure on the spectrum but he’s a boy genius. Went to Harvard

And he can definitely shred.

Their album “Everything Will Be Alright In The End” has 3 instrumentals to end the album and it’s mostly just him shredding. Check it out

Speaking of smaller bands big shout outs to Winona Fighter, Tigercub, and Microwave all were so good despite their early slots

Rivers is and has always been one of the most underrated guitarists of his era. A lot of people also don't know he grew up as a metalhead, and most of his music and bands before Weezer were metal. He still had hair down to his arse shortly before the blue album was recorded.

I've seen Dinosaur Jr and Flaming Lips both multiple times and I agree. Always fun shows. Weezer's been one of my favorite bands since high school, but somehow I've never made it to a show.

Homme is an animal and QOTSA are great live. I saw them in a venue maybe half full (couple big acts playing town that week and they were overlooked) and they brought the house down like the place was slam full.

Weezer is solid. They played all the hits in Louisville last year. They had a race car setup on their stage.

Here’s one of my videos
