Fleetwood Mac's mega-hit Rumours tops the list, announced on May 2.

Full Album

It has since sold 40 million copies worldwide — and is now top of the charts again following a vinyl revival, selling 280,000 copies on the format this millennium.

The other albums rounding out the top five spots are Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon, Nirvana's Nevermind, (What's The Story) Morning Glory by Oasis, and Queen compilation Greatest Hits.

Oasis

Was huge before they broke up like dummies

Oasis at Knebworth, 1996: 500,000
The defining moment of Britpop, Oasis at Knebworth was a truly magnificent musical spectacle. With 250,000 fans attending over two nights, Oasis were assured their place in musical history. Legend has it that the gigs had the biggest guest list of all time.

Still a little surprising to be in the top ten twice

I read several articles on this and overlooked the UK part entirely. I did question the fact Oasis was on there twice and the Stone Roses at all.
Now Fleetwood Mac on top seems weird except for the fact the Christine McVie is English.

Still a great accomplishment for Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac is/was an English band. Only Lindsay and Stevie are Americans. They started in and had an entire career in Great Britain before coming to LA and hiring those two

Rumours (note the English spelling) is one of the top two or three selling albums ever, worldwide

The original release was a masterpiece even without Silver Springs included.
