Knopf is seriously underrated. Telegraph road is one of the greatest songs ever written and performed.

Dire Straits songs are always a couple of minutes longer than they should be. Sultans of Swing is almost 6 minutes long and Money For Nothin is over 8 minutes long. The songs get too repetitive and wear out there welcome.

Credit to Walk Of Life though. It’s about right.

Maybe but Knopf has also had a great solo career. He has too many good songs to count.

Always wanted to do this song with banjo and fiddle, mountain style.
There is a national military park near me, dedicated to a certain battle from the War Of 1812.
There is no doubt, it was neighbors killing each other.

pete, you sound like my wife. My 45 year Pink Floyd obsession and her thoughts on it came down to "their songs are just too long"

I just do not understand that argument. If you like something, the more the better

It's like saying Tools songs should be 4 mins long. No they shouldn't

Sultans of Swing is probably my favorite song of all time, but I’m not a huge Dire Straights fan overall. I just think it is an almost perfect song given the time of recording and feel.

It's their most commercial, and I'm glad they got paid but Dire Straits, Making Movies, Love Over Gold, and Communique are all better. Their first album is a forgotten gem.
