We used to go see them at Mothers in Ruston in 1991 with the cokehead bass player. It was nuts. I think they are on their 5th or 6th bass player by now. They haven't been the same since Paul Sanchez left the band. Even the biggest Fred supporter can admit he gets pretty annoying.

Several years ago they were the band for the after party for the Crescent City Classic. We were all tired, hot, and sweaty and that jackass wanted to scream “get a little closer” 400 times during the show.

I liked the Voodoo Shoppe album. The band really fell off in the early 2010’s, but their live shows can be fun if you’re in the right mindset for it. I, am usually not, and just find Fred Leblanc’s antics on stage to be more annoying than entertaining.

I always kinda liked his solo record jet black and jealous.. nothing spectacular, but it was solid...
I could never get into CM... I did appreciate the energy when they first formed, but it got so corny and old fast...

They do put on a lively show. I have heard them a bunch of times, including several times as the closing act of the Endymion Extravaganza.
