I could not stand Demi Moore's character in A Few Good Men. She was always putting Caffey behind the 8 ball due to some simple error she made.

Then she wanted to call him a coward because he didn't want to put Jessup on the stand after she totally screwed up.

Honorable Mentions:

Denzel in Training Day. Started out hating him, then thought he may be a good trainer for young Jake, then at the end he was just pure evil.

Diane Lane in Unfaithful. Having had a spouse who was a cheater, this movie made me ill.

Yeah, but "I strenuously object" was a great line and one I use often.

first one that leapt to mind when I saw the thread title - took a while after first viewing of The Patriot before I could watch Jason Isaacs in another role without cussing the screen out ...which is a testament to how good of an actor he is when he can elicit such a visceral response in a role

I wanted Marie to die a horrific death so bad. I pretty much hated everything about her

Yep, wish they'd buried her face to face with Hank and made her watch while they blew Hanks brains out first, then hers just to get her to STFU

nah man you love to hate brick top

my vote would probably be the warden from shawshank.

my joke vote goes to bella from twilight, and ive never even seen the damn movies.

if we are talking about hated from stand point that i just cant stand the presence of the character on screen because of annoyance factor, few can beat jar jar binks.

O'Bannion from Dazed and Confused because I knew so many dudes like him that were just angry.

Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore represents selfish A-holes with no redeeming qualities.

Walter Peck from Ghostbusters is every authoritative bureaucrat who cites technicalities over common sense logic.

Everyone has had a Bill Lumbergh from Office Space as their boss. Getting paid 10x everyone else - to do nothing.

and Jar Jar just sucks

I'd have to think about it for a while because I'm sure there are some obvious ones I'd pick, but off the top of my head I'd say Matt Damon in like 4 different movies

I got a bunch of downvotes so I'll list a few. I like Matt Damon, he just makes a great a-hole

School Ties
Good Will Hunting
The Talented Mr. Ripley
The Departed
Interstellar
