EXCLUSIVE: With the four actors set to play the iconic members of the super team, Marvel Studios‘ The Fantastic Four now has its sights set on who will play Silver Surfer, and it looks like they are going with one of the towns biggest rising stars.

Sources tell Deadline that Emmy winner Julia Garner is set to play the iconic comic book character in Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).

Marvel Studios had no comment.

While plot details for this film are unknown, sources say Garner will play Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer from the comics.

So there already has been this in the Marvel comic book universe...

But this is still stupid. You can't leave the Silver Surfer out. The history of him as Herald is just too distinct.

Disney just cant help themselves. "Put a chick in it and make her lame and gay!"

South Park nailed that one.

Would it kill Disney to NOT gender/race/orientation swap a classic character? I mean, can we get one movie where this does not happen??

even if Marvels sucked, MCU has avoided this for the most part. Except for Ghost in Antman 2 I think.

Blame Stan Lee for introducing her character in 1968.

Shalla-Bal is the Empress of her utopian planet, Zenn-La (in the Deneb System, Milky Way Galaxy), and was the lover of Norrin Radd.

Sounds more like the rumored of this being in an alternate universe sounding more and more legitimate

Seems likely the F4 to be apart of another universe which would make sense given the belief this’ll be in the 60’s and nobody mentioned them in the MCU before
