When TOHO can spend less than 15 million to give us Godzilla -1, and some guy can produce a superior image than what a Hollywood studio releases, one might wonder what's really going on in the movie industry. Some have wondered why certain movies and streaming projects cost 100's of millions of dollars to make when equally or superior results can be achieved for a fraction of the cost. Some have hinted that there's big time money laundering taking place in Hollywood. It may explain why the continues to be bomb after bomb at the box-office for these studios and nothing changes. Almost no one gets fired, and the direction of these studios seems virtually unaffected.

Huge difference between creating CGI animations and movements, and photoshopping an existing still picture. CGI cost that much money because it takes a whole team of people and some serious hardware.

It’s just a photo. There also may be more to why they chose it as their promo. I’m tired of Hollywood’s crap product as of late too, but this is weird to me.

Yes, it's " just a photo", yet it's the ONLY one being released to promote a movie not due out until next year.

Why THIS photo? One which so easily could be memed on and picked apart? Not just one photo in a series, but this is all that the public has been given.

And the image just looks bad, technically. So much can be derived from that one shot, and most of it isn't very awe inspiring. Yet DC chose to release it anyways. As is.

You are just repeating what the guy said on the video…

I think the complaints about the suit are fair, but the hyper obsession with “why is Superman so casual while metropolis is being destroyed” without knowing any details about the plot is just strange. Maybe metropolis turned on Superman in this story and he’s feeling dejected about having to again save the city that doesn’t appreciate him?

Say what you will, but the image has got more people talking about the movie than almost anything else they would have put out.

Exactly. I'll bet it was supposed to tease aspects of the movie (will the suit have red trunks? Who is the villain? Will Corenswet be as jacked as Cavill?) and that this shot won't actually be in the film.

Yes, which is why I posted the video in the 1st place. These are valid questions which many fans are asking.

Not nearly as strange as showing the image completely out of context when we've seen time and time again that Superman can *change* in 1-2 seconds. But we're seeing a city-wide threat occurring behind him and he's acting like it's 3 AM & it's time to go make more donuts.

But people aren't saying complimentary things, which is sort of the point of such a release. This veers more towards the early design of SONIC, with the weird eyes & uncanny valley human teeth. Which then forced the studio to redesign the entire character. For the better, thankfully.

It wasn't any attempt. You've got no point. All I am is the messenger, and for some inexplicable reason, you feel the need to personally attack me?

Cope harder.

I prefer the first picture. I like something a little different or unexpected when it comes to remaking classic IP. I get why purists want everything in the style of Richard Donners's Superman or Action Comics #1, but I've seen Superman so many times. Makes me appreciate a slightly different approach.

There certainly is the balancing act of giving people what they want, but also subverting expectations. Unfortunately, it’s the latter which modern Hollywood has leaned so hard into. To the point where they are detracting from the source material.

I can't believe this pic has turned into such a big deal. It's just a silly Superman suit, same as it always is. Unreal

It's not. Some weirdos have to overanalyze and complain about everything though.
