Pronouns are stupid. They aren’t real. They/them or whatever isn’t real. That’s why you see negative response from people of sound mind. Pronouns aren’t people being people. It’s people being mentally ill and seeking attention/validation. Do we care that those people exist? No. Do we care that agenda is being pushed on us thru Disney/Star Wars when it should just be for family/kids? Yes. We. Do. Trying to ignore this type of thing has led us to where we are.

Think about how absurd it is to add "non-binary" characters to a star wars franchise. We aren't villainizing these people. They are choosing that role by demanding it be everywhere. Defending it is embarrassing at this point.

I’ve never given a damn if the lead role was female or not. It’s whether or not it flows well with coherent story telling.
This. They need to go back to writing coherent stories. That’s about it.

Rey didn’t start off bad. It was when they made her an indestructible Mary Sue that things went off the rails.

That and the budgets for a lot of these shows are just dog shite. Kenobi has a third of Andor’s budget like wtf?

This is the biggest issue, but I think it’s more the allocation of the budget versus the size. If you compare runtimes, I would imagine Andor is at least twice as long as Kenobi, but I’m sure McGregor got paid more than all of the Andor actors combined. Kenobi had to pay McGregor and use The Volume and Andor pays reasonable actor salaries and gets to shoot on location.

Yeah I think a lot of the directors/show runners that Disney puts in charge of these shows just don’t know how to allocate budget all that well. Like there’s no reason a cool premise show like The Acolyte should look like a garbage CW show.

But it does. There’s no scale, no depth to any of the shots. Lightsabers and costumes look poorly made. It just sucks

I mean...I vividly remember A LOT of people pointing out how powerful and skilled she was with little to no training in The Force Awakens. Many people, myself included, thought this would be addressed in the as yet untitled Episode VIII. However, after the abortion that was Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi, it became apparent that there was absolutely no reason as to why she could so easily manipulate the Force with very little need for a teacher. By the time they retconned her lineage into The Rise of Skywalker it was too late. It also appeared so randomly and was executed so clumsily, everyone could tell that this was a response to all of the negativity fans heaped onto Rian Johnson's "filthy junk traders" reveal in The Last Jedi.

Yeah but those are heavily invested psychos. To the vast majority of people who just appreciate a competent Star Wars movie she was just fine.

This is just wrong. Anyone who saw the previous movies would have noticed this. I've never read a single star wars novel yet I still noticed.

Star Wars is dead and I love watching it die

It deserves the slow painful and expensive death it’s getting.

They will never admit to themselves that it was shitty writing and basically missing the mark that killed the franchise. The sequels should’ve given closure to Luke, Han and Leia. Full stop. Luke was totally emasculated in his ending. Palpatine coming back and building a gazillion manned destroyers was beyond stupid.

It’s not about female characters. Ashoka was beloved in Star Wars lore…as was Leia. Hell, the original Knights of the Old Republic was a fantastic story and Bastila was a great character. I’m sure the books had a ton of great material to draw from.

I’ve said it before, but people on this board couldve put together a better storyline for the sequels than they did at Disney.

No... and it's not about gender.

I didn't like TFA when it came out, and I'm a big SW fan. I didn't like the First Order being a thing, I didn't like Leia hanging out in a camp instead of running the New Republic, I didn't like Han being a deadbeat bum. To me, this was not "competent", none of it fit with the narrative we all knew.
I didn't care for Han and Leia's kid idolizing Darth Vader (and not knowing he turned back at the end), that was stupid.

Rey being Force-sensitive was the least of my issues, at least with that film. The entire story was bad. The next movie was worse in many ways, but that doesn't make the first one "good".

SW fans have long since accepted that it is a dead brand.

There are some hangers on, and the rest of the fans are just fetishists demanding that everyone be gay or bi.

No, these frickers are fascist bullies that command everyone conform to their lifestyles and opinions and shut the frick up while they run all over you.

How about “No”, you’re living a lie, and now go frick yourself? How about you take that actual truth? Because I assure you that’s what 95% of people actually think.

I mean I get if you hate Disney that much but I’ll never root for the death of Star Wars. I want to see it succeed in spite of the mouse.

I do. Action movies with female leads, with a few rare exceptions, suck
