I know, I know, I know...people have been saying this for ages, but this is a Movie/TV message board so what's the use of not posting these juicy rumors when they emerge? Valiant Renegade, who is fairly plugged into the entertainment industry, had some people on his live stream last night. One of them is about to release a video very soon that cites multiple "sauces" of people who are supposedly plugged into the higher ups at Disney.

The long and the short of it: he can't confirm what's going to happen to Kathleen Kennedy or this upcoming Rey movie, but he can confirm that Disney is going to change direction when it comes to its target audience. In other words, the Force will no longer be female. It is very telling that not a single shot of Rey was shown during Star War's May the Fourth Celebration reel.

I’ve never given a damn if the lead role was female or not. It’s whether or not it flows well with coherent story telling.

What makes you think he knows anything? I'm genuinely asking. I remember this youtuber saying GOTG 3 was barely breaking even, which is laughable.

Seriously, no one was really hating on Rey when TFA was released. Like it makes sense to have the protagonist of the Sequel Trilogy be a girl because it’s an easy way to mix things up and power in the Force really shouldn’t be based on sex, unlike what these retards think:

I don't know whether the dude knows anything or not. I'm only posting it because I'm subscribed to Valiant Renegade on YouTube and thought it could spark discussion on here. Isn't that what a message board is for?

It tracks that Disney would just assume Star Wars fans are sexist instead of the reality that they want good, original storytelling that fits within the framework of the universe and is befitting of the original trilogy.

This. Rogue One was great. The story decides if a movie is good or not.

He doesn’t just another grifter farming rage views but if it pays the bill I guess it’s legitimate

They're going to need multiple hits in a row to make me come back.

A decent show like Andor sandwiched between absolute dogshit isn't going to do it.

Of course, I'm not trying to come off as a dick. Just asking if he's ever broken something important when it comes to star wars

The target audience should be fans and children regardless of gender. You can focus on gathering more young girls while still making a good movie. Force Awakens and Rouge One are pretty good examples of that. Last Jedi and Skywalker were messy and poorly written movies with dumb moments like Rose, Holdo’s stupid plan, Poe trying to start a mutiny, the Emperor somehow returning or the very idea of him having kids.

Because it’s tiresome at this point and it’s never true

All these dudes that claim this are people I’ve never heard of. And every one of them is “well connected”. And they are always wrong.

At this point, I’ll believe it when I see it. Until something like this actually happens I’ll keep spending my money elsewhere

All of this is so stupid.

Star Wars was basically a space western. They turned it into a whiney, chick-fest and act surprised it failed.

If people love chocolate and you sell them chocolate that's pink and tastes like bubblegum, eventually, people will stop asking for chocolate.

Disney is either exceptionally stupid or doing this kind of thing on purpose.
I suspect more the latter, so I don't really expect much to change except them dialing back on the SW offerings.

I used to think that some of the ideologues on the Left truly weren’t grasping this nuance, and in some measure of good faith actually thought the fans really WERE just a bunch of misogynist assholes and that we were all just yelling past each other.

I believe now with all my heart that they fully DO know exactly what we are saying, and they just continue to pretend that they don’t so that they have the strawman of racist, sexist assholes being to blame for all of society’s ills (the least of which, I’m sure they believe, are the dismal box office showings of their garbage propaganda).

Disney just burns people out of franchises by pumping out movies and series every year just to make a buck.
