don't think these movies need reviews. People are gonna see it. Unless they just hate fun.

I agree . I also see kind of why they do it… so when people aren’t big time movie nerds say “ oh what’s playing? Wow mission impossible has great reviews , we should check this one out tonight “

Tom Cruise just might be the last movie star. People go to see his movies in their millions because of HIM. There are few if any other actors working today who can say the same thing.

Yep, it'll be a good one to follow. I know Cruise is pissed about losing premium screens after just one week because of Oppenheimer.

Did not realize that’s what it was. I was perplexed that I could only find Dolby tickets on opening weekend. Makes sense.

Sorry Tom but Nolan does get the nod

Yeah that one grabs you from the jump with PSH acting as menacing as ever ( sidebar but coming in second is his role in “before the devil knows your dead”)

That is the scene where Keri Russell's brain explodes?

I'll definitely be seeing this one. Wife and I did a watch of all the MI movies before the previous one came out, and we really enjoyed them all.

But this thread tells me that the first MI is criminally underrated. Don't get me wrong, outside of one (maybe two) movies, all of the MI movies are pretty awesome. But man, the first one was just so great. I don't know if maybe people are viewing the movie in a "now mindframe" rather than a 1996 one, but at the time it was pretty groundbreaking stuff with some of the stuntwork. And obviously Cruise ups it a notch every time he films a new one. And I do agree that after 3, they went a different direction with the franchise and they are different types of movies (and still fun as hell).

But outside of the absolutely ridiculous facemask pulls ( ), the first one is awesome and a ton of fun IMO.

No. Tom Cruise is tied up in front of his wife and PSH does a countdown with a gun to his wife’s head

I have never seen one mission impossible. Might need to download the first one.
God no. The first one is hilariously dated. Pick another.

Jon Voight in 58 in the first one.

Tom Cruise is around 60 when he filmed this latest MI movie.

Damn

I would watch them all. But def the last 3 are the best. They set up this movie. I’m so glad they added Rebecca Ferguson. She is fine.

Honestly I would just skip the first 2.

3 is kind of where this franchise really makes its mark to what it is now

best news i've seen in a while is that part 2 releasing next year won't be the end of the franchise as previously thought:

it aint over

These movies are ridiculously fun and must be seen in a theater

I listen to a ton of podcasts and anytime an actor brings up Tom Cruise they say hands down he’s the most professional actor in the business. First one there and the last one to leave. Makes everyone elevate their game.

Say what you will about him but he’s a badass on the screen

Watched Ghost Protocol last night. We enjoyed it immensely. A lot more humor than I expected.

Right. He would rather not make a movie at all than to go through the motions and half-arse it .

A trait that’s Commendable in Hollywood these days . He is so totally committed to making great movies no matter the physical cost and danger involved . We all benefit because of it
