If you had written a screenplay for a television series, how would you get it in front

of the right people? I have been working on a concept for a story that I believe would be a great Netflix style series with multiple seasons.

Where do I start?

This isn't the right place to ask for that kind of advice. No offense. Good Luck

I am not sure the order of operations but I would think trying to join the Screenwriters Guild would help. Also being a chick that's gay would be a big step to getting it made.

Have it reviewed on the Black List?

Screenwriter here. There are a couple hosting sites like sellingyourscreenplay.com and SS screen play submissions. INktip. Black pages.
Selling a show is extremely tough. It takes a lot of connections and buy-in from people at every level of the flag pole.

Traditionally you start by pitching it to an agent, but the big offices like CAA are closed off to cold queries, so you have to know someone.
Wish I had better advice. I'm fighting the battle at the moment.

Sorry, man, but someone beat you to the punch already. By like 40 years or so.

If it's up to the rafters in DEI nonsense, you could hit up known race pimp Franklin Leonard's The Black List.

nah- you only get invited to the guild once you've made about 45k writing. The guild is for working writers, providing arbitration and health insurance. Once you're in the guild you can't work for less than the guild minimum (about 40k a screenplay).

it's so hard to get something made period ... even if you are in the industry and have contacts. But don't let the 1% chance derail you if you believe in it. Try to find any angle that can get you a fighting chance for someone to read it.

Everyone has a script or is writing one ... walk into any coffee shop in L.A. and 30% of open laptops are probably a screenplay. I know some big time producers and i would be surprised if one of their assistants would even read something i sent them. It's a tough reality.

That’s a good point - if it’s something you can actually shoot a pilot of, then that’s your best bet. It’s a period war drama, then that’s clearly not feasible but contemporary comedy or drama ? Why not

You’re going to have to suck a **** or have sex with a 80 year old Hollywood executive. Let us know how it goes.

More like you have to watch your wife suck the exec clean in his office.
