Fields, though, will not compete with Wilson for a starting job, a team source told ESPN. Instead, Fields is expected to learn from the Super Bowl winner and nine-time Pro Bowler in Pittsburgh.

Per ESPN alert.

I’ve never seen a QB have so many people make excuses for him. If he’s still a bust, I wonder who they’ll blame

Pretty wild considering there were headlines about him becoming the future of Atlanta before cousins signed.

Kid has been coddled his entire career from college to the pros. Part of his problem.

And his eyes are oddly uncomfortably far apart.

Seriously, every media member shits on Lance, Wilson, and Mac but for some reason Fields is still revered as some incredible talent waiting to break out. Dude blows, we’ve got enough evidence.

It’s mind blowing this guy is still coveted in any way at all. We know why though

Neither. One(Russ) is washed and the other(Fields) is garbage.

But Wilson will be the starter so it's really a moot point.

Anyone who thinks that Wilson is going to take anyone under his wing, especially Justin Fields, and let him learn from him is fricking delusional. Russ is all about Russ.

Fields was never in play for ATL. The staff wanted an "elite processor" at QB and Fields definitely ain't that.

The Falcons made a great signing w/Cousins. They'll win 10-11 games next year.

The Steelers will be lucky to win 8.

Just shows how stupid people are. It’s now obvious the Falcons were not remotely interested in Fields.

NFL teams being desperate for potential franchise QB’s is nothing new (though we see the Fields market was bigger for the media than the NFL).

Dude is an incredible athlete and had some really good production at OSU Throwing the football. I don’t think he’s going to be much in the NFL, but to act like it’s so hard to see why he’s regarded higher than Mac Jones or Trey Lance is funny
