Just returned from a bucket list trip with my family to Omaha for CWS. If anyone is interested here is my experience:
Pros
-Omaha is an awesome city for this event! No traffic all weekend! Easy to find parking. (Use the parkmobile app) Great stuff to do everywhere. We stayed 20 minutes from downtown in a VRBO because we were 8 people and it was easy getting in, getting around, and getting out
- College baseball fans everywhere!
-You get to see great baseball
- Amazing people. Fans of Al teams are just so friendly
-It was an invasion!! LSU took over
- The history is everywhere. Visited the old Blatt. It was majestic. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

-The organist in the park
- The food in and around the park
-Great breweries everywhere

Cons
- The “Chuck” is underwhelming. Hard to get into, corporate atmosphere, terrible sun. The 2nd game starts with an empty stadium because of the cluster they’ve created in clearing and getting into the stadium. Makes no sense to have the biggest stage for your game played on a field where hitters can’t see spin and half the defenders can’t see the ball for half the game.
- Ridiculously expensive!

Overall, I may go back with just the guys, but- while it was an awesome time, I’m I’m not sure that the ballpark itself lived up to what I’d dreamed of for so many years. Wish I’d gone before they tore down the Blatt

ETA: Put some pros in the cons department! Edited

Well yeah

Rosenblatt was the CWS

That new sterile stadium is garbage

A few tips I picked up if you go:
- Park Omaha/ Park Mobile is the ticket for parking. $10 parking a couple blocks from the stadium. Easy in easy out
- The Blatt restaurant has good food and beer
- If you wanna get in for the first pitch, go to the gates in right and center field and be there an hour before first pitch ( if it’s an LSU game- good luck ??)
-There is a huge LSU tailgate at the Creighton soccer field. Games on big screen, covered area, awesome food and drinks, open to the public. If you eat/ drink they have buckets for donations to the kitty.
- Don’t eat the danger fries in the park. Just trust me
- Do get the cheesesteak from the outfield concessions
- Once everybody gets into the park and settles in, concession lines really aren’t bad so don’t stress.
- No cash in the park accepted
-Open tailgates everywhere. Great people just walk around and take it all in

My only con with the CWS is they should re-seed the field. It seems one side of the bracket is always stacked with national seeds and the other side is significantly weaker.

That park, for college baseball, is absolutely fricking horrible

Ignoring the issues with the sun/lighting, you play one style of baseball all year, then get to a park that forces you to go about it in a different way, for the most important games of the year.. they need to change it. Such a corporate money grab now. There’s no ‘college charm’ in Omaha anymore. It’s like watching an intense minor league game

Where can you play in front of 24thousand people and it not be corporate? When the wind blows in you can’t really just go yard but that’s anywhere

I noticed this during the Wake game. Whoever it is was just bringing it.

Reading things like this is what makes me believe i'll probably never go back. I went to Omaha in 09 when we beat UT and that was incredible, but I don't think the new place will ever live up to Rosenblatt in my mind.

Libs likely won’t be invading Omaha any time soon since they look down on flyover country

Cons-the cell phone service the first 3 days was absolute arse. I’ve been twice before and never had that issue. Now yesterday it was much better but you couldn’t send a text and if you did, the other person got six copies of it.

I’m not a fan of re-seeding.

College baseball and basketball still give us Cinderellas…. Not so much in football.

Wouldn’t that be the case for certain teams no matter what?
