Another blow to the MVC.

Once a pretty great basketball and baseball league. Losing Wichita St, Creighton, and now Missouri State hurts.

It also could alter the footprint of league to the point that St Louis is no longer the center of the league and the natural spot for the conference office and basketball tournament.

All these teams are making what they think are moves “up” and UNO is the only school I’ve ever seen make a move “down”

Sun belt still isn’t great either, but CUSA isn’t helping itself by adding schools like Sam Houston, Jax State, & now Missouri State

CUSA is an abomination. Every single program currently competing in CUSA should get the "death penalty" and Judy McLeod should be assigned permanent potato-peeling duty at Fort Leavenworth.

MVC to D1 football for Mo St is a move up.

MVC to Big East for Creighton is a move up.

MVC to AAC for Wichita is a move up.

It's not just what they think. That's objective.

Sunbelt has set itself up to be a competitive and sustainable conference over multiple sports and geographically.

I'd say they were much more forward looking than a lot of conferences and much more well prepared to navigate the upcoming landscape.

the sun belt rules

instead of chasing TV markets like the CUSA. They found programs within their region that care about football.

Ehhhh...they got APP St, GA Southern, and Coastal who came in and donkey stomped the SBC teams. Then Troy and the Cajuns stepped up to make a nice top 4-5 with another team that would make the run above .500. In basketball GA St went on a run and the rest of the conference is just...eh...Baseball it's a great conference. They then went and added two of the CUSA teams that pushed for the markets and told ESPN to F themselves, which led to the drop in CUSA, and also added one of the market adds from CUSA in order to grab JMU who has donkey slapped the conference.

CUSA isn't what it was 20 years ago, but it's far from horrible with the new adds. Still has some work for football outside of Liberty, but MBB and Baseball is good already and just got better with this add and Kennesaw in 2025.

ETA: Completely forgot they were adding yoUDee as well.

As far as G5 conferences go the Sun Belt is pretty great

The Sun Belt MAC and MWC have a footprint that makes sense and at least some sort of identity. C USA is a disaster

CUSA is a better football and basketball conference than the MAC even with the recent FCS callups.

G5 conferences shite talking each other in this era is hilarious.

“I’m the tallest midget!!!”

Let me assure you the average CFB fan does not know the difference between Western Kentucky, Troy, Florida Atlantic, Eastern Michigan and Wyoming

We are all irrelevant boys

Sam won CUSA basketball in there first season and basketball is 3rd fiddle there.

Jax State embarrassed ULL in there first FBS season.

I have a fondness for the SunBelt. It is a very well run conference. They have gained everyone’s respect.

Bring in Lindenwood. They’re in the STL metro.
