Falcons fans should feel happy with this decision because Saints fans are very angry about it. The angrier your division rivals are about your teams moves, the better they are.

This division has deteriorated to the absolute worst in the NFL. If not for Tampa resuscitating their team with Brady it has been a total crapper. My hope is that ownership can somehow stop making all the stupid hires and get some legit football people in their organization. The hire of the latest Falcon HC makes me think that ain't happening anytime soon.

get a cheaper option. Sit him a year and tank. Get him a better OL and then go win.
You’re right in that they were smart enough to front load cousin’s contract, and combined what they would be spending on them isn’t bad compared to the total QB market, but the best part of a young QB is playing on their rookie contract.
Penix is also 24 on wednesday. Sit him 2 years and he’s 26.
It just doesn’t make sense.

The only positive of the Atlanta situation is that they are in a dog shite division where everyone seems to be trying to give it away to each other. And that they may have enough just with cousins and their offense to win it.

With that $ they spent on Cousins they could have added guys liks Christian Wilkins, DJ Reader, Danielle Hunter, Lajarius Sneed, Brian Burns, etc
