3-3, Rangers on the power play, one minute to go in regulation, and some arse clown in the ESPN trailer switched the feed to the start of the Dallas broadcast.

Ooops.

The same station should not carry two overlapping playoff games, period.

My ESPN showed the end of the Rangers game.

they cut to the Avalanche game after the period ended.

A graphic had just popped up in the corner that the Stars-Avs game was “now airing on ESPNU”. Two seconds later, they ESPN feed switched over to the Stars-Avs skating onto the ice.

It’s completely absurd to have one network with overlapping games
They also lie about start times by 20 minutes which is aggravating

At least it's easily viewable on another ESPN affiliate. Back when NBCSN aired playoff games, they would shift the 2nd game of the doubleheader to CNBC, MSNBC, or Golf Channel if the first game went long.

I remember years ago when NBC cut away from a Penguins playoff game in favor of an hour of pre Kentucky Derby banter. Good thing we have various affiliate stations now.

When the Capitals and Maple Leafs played in the Heritage Classic years ago, NBC stupidly cut away from the game with 5 minutes left. And moved it to NBCSN. Cable was included in my lease at the time. And NBCSN wasn't included. It pissed me the hell off NBC devalued the product that much to take the rest of the game off network TV. You never see networks do that anymore with other sports.

I forgot to mention it earlier, but sometimes NHL Network also showed the start of some playoff games if the one before it went long.

Then it took ESPN six minutes (yes I timed it) to switch games once NYR-CAR ended.

Clicked this thinking it was going to be a cut away to show a pre season Catlin Clark live look in free throws
