DFW sports entering a golden era that I wish the Saints and Pelicans could ever obtain.

Most don’t care here unless it’s the Cowboys

Since the Cowboys last NFC CG appearance:

Mavs - 4 WCF appearances
Stars - 7 WCF appearances
Rangers - 3 ALCS appearances

All have won a title each in that period as well.

Rangers and Mavericks are huge here. The 2011 Mavs title run generated more buzz than any Cowboys season has in decades including ones in which they had the #1 seed in the NFC.

The Stars do have a lesser following but that’s just hockey in the south. I’d venture to say Dallas has more buzz around their hockey team than any other hockey fanbase outside of Canada and the Midwest/northeast though. St. Louis and LA would be the other other two in contention for that. I was shocked at how little Denver appears to care about the Avalanche.

Yea, but DBU isn't that great this year in baseball so it brings down everything.

I have no idea what I'm even talking about

Should the Mavericks and Stars both win rings this season, I think it's safe to say Dallas has achieved "Title-Town" status with the Rangers being current World Champions...

Absolutely untrue. All 3 have rabid fanbases. And I think people are underestimating the decline in LOCAL support for the Cowboys, particularly given the product on the field and when compared to the competent and likeable management of the other teams. By virtue of the legacy and the benefit of playing 16 games the Cowboys will likely always be # 1 here but I know several die-hard fans of my generation that love football, grew up pretending to be Roger Staubach/Drew Pearson/Tony Dorsett/Randy White/Harvey Martin/Too Tall Jones/et al while playing in the backyard that are far more invested in the other three teams than the Cowboys these days.

And I see no reason for optimism about the Cowboys next season and every other team in our division improved in the off-season.

Football town and the NCAA Denver Pioneers are a powerhouse in hockey.
