Verlander is 41. I’m not sure if he’s washed up or not. Even as a Yankees fan, I don’t like seeing that guy get shelled like this. One of my fav players, I hope he can find it again

Brown and Espada are placeholders. Brown is basically here to rebuild the farm system because that's the unglamorous work Crane/Bagwell/Jackson/Biggio aren't interested in or qualified to do. But I don't have much faith Brown will be any good at it.

Not sure who the next GM/manager combo will be when the Astros are good again because that may be a long time off. But I have a hunch it won't be Brown and Espada. Both seem too weak in their jobs to have much of an impact in any sort of success.

We finally get a baserunner and thr next guy immediately grounds into a double play.

Good to see we gave up the obligatory Stanton HR in his last AB. Guy only seems to be healthy enough to play against the Astros.

So what's the deal with the subs ? Espada being a pussy and quitting? It's no wonder this clown interviewed for every open job and never got one.

I agree, but I fear the replacements will just be their clones. This is Crane’s team now and I just don’t see him doing what’s necessary to bring in anything but yes men to tilt nipple to meatheads like Bagwell and Jackson. What he’s done since the end of 2022 has been inexplicable.

Commenting on an earlier post about Dana Brown’s interview today, it was like this last year too. He would say shite, then have to walk it back like a scolded child. He’s not running things and he knows it.

I agree. That's why I said I don't know when they'll be good again.

Nothing seems to be changing. Yeah it was fun to beat up on a crappy Colorado team and take two from an overrated Cleveland team. But we don’t compete with good teams or in close games. If they fall more than 10 games behind the next couple weeks, it’s time to think about a few players futures.

1. Bregman needs to be traded.
2. Verlander might as well be dealt
3. Deal Hader and get rid of that money.
4. Trade framber because he is entering arbitration.
5. Decide if Tucker will be signed. If not, deal.

Those pieces should get a decent return.

They would have to give up prospects to offload Hader
