Her being white definitely plays a part in her popularity but it’s more so how unique her style of play is. You can’t market layups. You can market step back 35’ers.

If a female could ever dunk with style I think that would also become the biggest thing in women’s basketball

NO shite, it’s also the reason former, and current players feel the need to say exactly that. Is it her fault that more people are following the WNBA because of her success? If anything, anyone involved with the WNBA should be kissing the arse of the current draft class. Instead of riding that high people are trying to bring it down because of jealousy and if it keeps up this time next year nobody will give two shits about the WNBA, just like it’s always been.

She’s right. People just like Clark because she’s white. She’s not even good at basketball. Like not even at all!

I think it’s got to be frustrating to be good at what you do and get 0 recognition.

I dont think Clark’s hype is just because she’s white. The way she plays is exciting and more
importantly, it like the men’s game.

If you’re going to the rim regularly it stands
out that you play below the rim.

If you shoot half court 3s that’s a half court three

And no wonder this is the most despised demographic in the US.

Do better. Quit embarrassing yourselves.

But honestly, how many black men are watching the WNBA?

The WNBA is so hopeless.

Indiana Fever coach is already trying to change Clarks game and just take safe jumpers, no more logo 3s,..nevermind that her teammates don't have their heads on a swivel and run the floor....they are missing dime passes and easy layups because she stretches the court. Lisa Bludder at Iowa admitted she had to change the way she coached when Clark showed up....because you had to let her be,HER. That's the only reason people are buying tickets.

Everyone predicted it. Arrogant entitled league that will kill the golden goose out of some illusion of relevance.

WNBA is going to institutionalize Clark and play the same boring arse unwatchable game.

Black people lose their mind when "someone who looks like them" succeeds at a traditionally white dominated sport or event.

Black people also lose their mind when a white person succeeds at a traditionally black dominated sport and the 70% of the population that is white enjoys it.

Totally on brand.

Or maybe this once-great nation needs to quit making everything about race and just support her for being good at what she does.

For the first time ever, people are talking about, watching and attending WNBA games, but really only the one's Clark plays in.

So they are finally getting some attention but they hate it because of why.

If people don’t know, they are about to figure out just how lunatic the WNBA is.

A couple years ago, there was an owner running for office as a republican and the players wore shirts promoting her democratic opponent. They literally care more about culture wars than the sport

I'm intrigued to hear how an owner winning an election would have improved the sport.

I remember when black people didn’t think it was cool that Jackie Robinson was in the major leagues.
He was just another good baseball player.

Oh I love this reply. This is the part where we pretend that had the owner been a Democrat and won, it wouldn't have been promoted daily by the media, with constant fawning from their players on their team.

Progressives love to play ignorant to the world they created. This is another example.

It would make absolutely no difference, which is why making it a circus and alienating half the country that has a different opinion than you is putting culture wars over the sport.
