Hearing rumors of Bass leaving Catholic for Central to replace Leo McClure. I wonder if those rumors have any teeth.

Covenant Christian only losing 1 senior. They had 2 juniors, 3 sophomores, 2 freshmen and an 8th grader in the lineup against Glenbrook.

It is increasingly difficult to coach at private schools. But central did run off a guy after 2 straight state titles. I look for 3 very noteworthy coaching changes in BR area

I have heard of three for sure. Central, Priaireville, & Walker. But there are rumors of two more openings.

I mean they’ve already reached out to Brad Cresse about replacing Bass if he leaves

You 100% could have waited - 99% of the time what the school district tells you is bullshite. They love to say and do things that are blatantly against the law or against the rights of the parents. They know most people won’t seek legal representation to fight the school district
we took it to the school board president and State Rep. they stood 100% firm. Basically could start and hold back later, but K is federally funded so rules different. But his brother was at same magnet and being held back may have impacted them going to same school.

We ended up holding him back due to immaturity and moved both to a private. All worked fine. The hold back is the smart one in my family. The hold back has worked fine.

I have to agree with this. Just look at their sub-varsity programs. They have at least one JV team and about 3 freshman teams. They are running out of colors to call the teams.

Lmao catholic doesn’t have to recruit. Especially for baseball.

Parents willingly pay thousands of dollars in the summer for their child to play on one of the Knights - Bears teams knowing that it’s a summer long try out and no guarantee that their child will make the team.

why is it the same guys that support poverty programs that put dog shite into the programs always on here

1) claiming such and such private school is recruiting...oh you mean evening the playing field and offering school at zero cost just like the publics do? do you think they are paying the parents or something

2) complaining about a kid being too old yet within the rules.

this thread turns into a constant bitch session instead of enjoying great baseball. gets tiring and mainly from teams that cant even make the state tourney.

Bass was close to taking Live Oak job a couple years ago
He does have three kids and pay/retirement is much better then at Catholic
I would be shocked if he leaves though

The play that catcher for Teurlings made vs St Louis was pretty much identical to the LSU vs Bama play the night before, except Teurlings 1B made a hell of a play/catch

But then didn't he get run off from his next spot for similar accusations?

Just a gut feeling but I don't think Bass fits that Central mentality. I may be wrong though.

I'm interested to hear the other openings that come up. I could guess at a couple but they'd be strictly personal speculation
