You keep touting your low population this thread but somehow magically believe that somehow y’all have the absolute top crop of talent almost year in and year out? For whatever reason your area just sprouts D1 prospects at a much higher clip than anyone else in the state? I have no clue why you insist on keeping your head so far in the sand when it comes to this. Is barbe flat out cheating? I’m not sure and I’m not privy to such information, but when this school with such a small population to pull from (your words, not mine) has had this level of success for such a consistent period of time, they’re CLEARLY doing something different than everyone else. Same with Curtis, Evangel, WM, etc in football back in the day.. this type of shite doesn’t just organically happen, they’re more than likely bending the rules somewhere and have a great program in place to do so

so you just assume?

you cant point out the players so you just make shite up.

lets go down the starters and ill look up the travel teams they played for to prove you are full of shite

pitcher- Diego Corrales- lived in LC a while but is from out the country. played for bullet baseball in lc at age 11

catcher- presley Courville - grew up in LC, played for ballistic & knights baseball out of LC at age 12 and younger before playing with national teams

3rd- brit vick- from LC, played for bullet, la athletes and southpaw all from LC area growing up. family been in lc for generations

LF- Cameron Stutes- from LC, family been here for generations. played for bullet, southpaw, knights and athletes growing up

cf- jordan griffin- from LC, played for smash when he was really young before going to play for national teams. Been known on the travel circuit since he was 8 or 9.

SP- Lawton littleton- grew up in sulphur, dad played for sulphur, moved to LC for HS. played on same smash team as griffin when young before going on travel circuit with national teams and the tors team out of sulphur

reserve players that have played or PH-

Dane Dixon- parents from Westlake, grew up in LC as mom teaches at sj. played for bullet and southpaw growing up

haden heath- grew up in LC, played for ballistic, southpaw and traction growing up

Jairus Miller- grew up in lc playing for bullet and champion

collin harris- grew up in lc playing for bullet and athletes

ive posted before but most of the starters were on the south lc little league team that played texas in the finals in the regionals. i used to have a screen shot that showed the names, most are on barbe

so again...who is it that Barbe is recruiting especially since the other schools around here are also damn good?

Is this what barbe is telling themselves ?

bro, have you seen WM roster....they are freaking loaded...and they are going to want revenge more than anything.

barbe has had to play over their heads just to get to this point.

btw youth prospects started dropping the barbe videos on tictok and dropped game 1 vs mandeville last night, great video and im sure the mandeville people will also enjoy it as it shows all the at bats and plays

I'm guessing Jordan Griffin played on the South Lake Charles Little League team that went up against the Lafayette team that reached the LLWS.

I covered their game in Broussard. I remember people saying South Lake Charles had one of the top players in the country.

now for the ones screaming that the teams in SWLA are cheating..

do you think Sam Houston is stealing players from South Beau and Westlake? then how is South Beau so good? Then how did Westlake make quarters?

is Sulphur stealing from Westlake and Dequincy? then how did Westlake make Quarters and Dequincy make semi?

who is Iowa stealing from?

who is St Louis stealing from? all the teams around them are making it to Sulphur almost annually

go look at the rosters. go see where the kids are from. you can type their name in on usssa and see the travel teams they played on really easy.

again its the ones who dont make good hires, doesnt have community buy in, doesnt put the money into facilities that are screaming the loudest.

no reason the AP schools cant do what barbe, sam houston, st louis etc have been doing annually. no reason, have all the same resources plus more.

no reason plenty of other schools cant do it.

As a neutral observer this is more of a pick ‘em game then a monumental, lopsided matchup

asking the taxpayer to pay an addtl 10-15k times how many ever boys is just stupid.

They’re not paying extra - the taxpayer is paying the same amount in property taxes and sales tax no matter how many kids are in the school

imo that is just based on barbes reputation

i will give WM credit....talked to a bunch of their fans yesterday and they were all cheering for barbe as they want revenge and they all said....title isnt legit unless we beat barbe. Was shocked.

man Benton impressed me. They are a young team and their pitcher was dealing, their fielding was really solid and they battled at the plate big time. the big freshman 2nd baseman is athletic AF and gonna be a stud.

Definitely a pick’em in my opinion. Last years game was very entertaining and a prime example of why a Barbe is so hard to beat in Sulphur

An optional extra year the taxpayer money should be going elsewhere than a parental choice for athletic advantage.

Thanks y’all. Will check out OBs or Fat Max. If not, I forgot about Walk On’s. But would like to try some we don’t have at home.

I’ve got no dog in the fight, but I hope one day I find someone who loves me and defends me in the manner LSU777 does Barbe and Glenn. That’s true love.

aint got nothing to do with that.

i like to prove people wrong, especially when they are talking out their arse. I do it on the H&F and OT boards all the time and used to on politalk before it became a fricking cult about 6-7 years ago.

i would defend any of the local schools like that if i knew they were not recruiting. especially barbe, st louis and westlake as i have or had some type of connection with those programs

if any school is recruiting, i guess you could say Sam Houston as they have gotten quite a few kids that traditionally would have went to barbe. I dont consider it recruiting though as those kids switched over in like middle school or even freshman year and sat. freshman year

Like I said, no dog in the fight, my team stinks. However, I do know earlier in this thread you said your connection to barbe was bringing your kids to games and that was it. Now we have evolved into you knowing the rosters family history, travel ball history, etc. I hope this isn’t someone on barbe’s staff. That would be a little unbecoming for such a great program.

So, there have never been additional taxes added to the taxpayer to pay for services provided, in this case non essential services? Interesting take on how costs are managed. So, just magically, no matter the expenses to govt taxes just remain the same. My first wife had a similar approach to financial management.

Look at how the other male sports at those high schools do. Barbe, Sam Houston, and Sulphur are non-existent in football and basketball. Baseball is the only sport the kids in that area grow up playing and is the sport that gets the most resources from the high schools

STM is really the only school in the Lafayette and Lake Charles area that is consistently good in baseball, basketball, and football
