Well as someone that doesn’t get a refund it’s still a ripoff. And holding back a kid for athletics is just wrong no matter how you slice it.

You realize plenty of other reasons to hold kids back outside of academics and athletics right? Do you get this mad when the failing schools have kids failing over and over? Plenty of other wasteful things to care about especially if you don’t live in that district.

What chance does Barbe have against WM
barbe is the underdog IMO they have Littleton going. If barbe can somehow pull this out. It will be glenns best coaching job which says a lot

Catholic did not care how many holdbacks West Monroe had. They just lined up and beat the Rebels 3 games in a row.

Maybe in Jefferson parish but keep in mind most kids doing at no Catholic schools were doing it where cheaper or no tuition was involved prior to 8th grade.

Leonard fournette was a holdback

I’m not talking about a random kid. I’m talking about having an actual hold back program. Curtis held back everyone, even the eventual valedictorian

for other schools it was happening before they made it there in 8th grade and at said high school. Look at the ages of some of the top players, you might be surprised. There was no year where every player at curtis was held back. So not it’s not a program but they certainly had hopdbacks.

They cared back in the days when WM was scalding them in FB - they were one of the ones to point it out.

no because that is not done on purpose and 100% why I am for school choice. Considering that it is nearly 12K a year for the average public school student per year in LA if parents are making a "recreational" choice to get an extra year of school they should be on the hook for said cost.

I didn’t mean every single player. But if you came up in the lower school chances are you were held back. There were many that came from other parochial schools that held back in 8th once they got to JC. I mean it’s not really a debate, they had a program going

i agree on school choice and the cost but you have no clue why a parent choices to hold back a kid and are strictly assuming and you know what they say about that

No shite dude. Houston? Where did that come from? I've been around Barbe my whole life and in the 90s it was all LC guys. Hommy Rosado was the first foreigner Cechinni got and it has kinda been a thing for whatever reason since 2009 or so. But the only player I remember was Trey Brown. And he was from freaking DEQUINCY. But he threw in the 90s and wanted to play in college. For as good as Dequincy usually is there coach has 0 connections and is really not that great. But the rumor when Cechinni started really getting into the recruiting was that neighborhood across the baseball field was where the foreigners and kids from surrounding towns had pretty easy time moving in.

Hell no. Barbe has no reason to hold kids back. They have kids waiting there turn just like a college. Natural progression as far as grades/pecking order. Don't compare Barbe to WM. You've seen the talent in our area, like 5 teams still playing. Barbe has kids that JUST pitch that would definitely make all state at any 4a school or below as the best player on the team.

Barbe and West Monroe play for the 3rd time in the last 4 years in the D1 NS title game.

The most competitive class has the least amount of parity.

Skenes pitch tomorrow in Lake Charles/Sulphur area?
