So my take on Kyle
Never liked him when he started career. Didn’t like him all thru Hendricks/Gibbs. When he moved to RCR he started to grow on me.
I think he’s been great off the track and has mellowed some overall. But listening to him all year during races and audio clips they play in car - he is totally frustrated with performance. And I think that spilled over last night.
He’s had 2 giant teams to race for and now RCR. But even if RCR pays him well, he can see the difference in that extra 5% of performance that likely costs 20% more and is not being spent by RCR. So he’s stuck on a team with no good teammates and is going nowhere with crappy cars.
Last night Ricky squeezed him taking the middle and Kyle scraped the wall but it was not Rickys fault. Ricky never pushed him in the wall that was all Kyle. Kyle then decided to push Ricky and then Ricky overcorrected and crashed. Most drivers would have saved it but not Ricky. Kyle was likely mad at his own team but took it out on Ricky
However, Ricky was justified in confronting Kyle after the race and Kyle deserved that punch. But Rickys dad deserves his hard card pulled by getting in on the fight. Let your son fight his own battles.
Kyle then made that last comment about Charlotte and not caring of wrecked since he drives bad anyways. That is the key statement. He just sent a signal to RCR to make their cars faster.
Anyways, can’t wait for Charlotte.

The argument for Ricky is that it was just racing. To some people what Kyle did was just racing. If there hadn't been the fight I don't think this gets nearly as much attention as it has.

Yes they can:
1. Ricky saw an opening in the middle and took it. By taking it he never touched Kyle. He was clearly “racing” and didn’t have to move anyone out of the way.
2. Kyle had to make a racing decision. Going in corner with 2 cars inside, got to be careful you don’t over drive corner and brush wall. Kyle failed and brushed it but was not pushed or rubbed.
So yes, they do and did coexist. Its called “racing” and Ricky raced and never touched him. Kyle brushed himself into wall.
I honestly hope they wreck each other out and we have another infield assault. History shows only a 1 race ban for assaults live in national TV in infield after wrecking (Bubba assaulting Larson)
If you want to see pushing a driver into wall check out Denny pushing Chase into wall last year. Retaliation got Chase a 1 race ban. That was BS. And last night was worse since Ricky never touched him.
Will Kyle get a race ban? I hope not honestly like to let them figure it out on own. But if not then it shows even more Hamlin favoritism based in prior ruling. Nascar needs these rivalries and heated moments. How many fans will tune on to see if they wreck each other. If banned then they won’t

Agreed. He grabbed Kyle and popped him in the face as he was getting up. He wasn't trying to defuse the situation. He deserves a timeout.

NASCAR needs to have hockey type rules when it comes to fights.
Let the fricking drivers fight without a bunch of crew members jumping in.
Anyone steps into the fight between the drivers is automatically suspended for multiple races.
Anyone not a remember of a team and gets involved in a fight, it’s an automatic ban from all race tracks.

The two statements absolutely can coincide. Did Ricky squeeze Rowdy close to the wall? Absolutely. Did Ricky door Kyle and put him in the wall? Nope. That was Kyle in a rare instance of bad car control(Kyle has some of the best car control of any driver ever). And Kyle was already frustrated in his performance this year, let it boil over and took it out on Ricky.
Stenhouse had every right to be pissed.
