Haas just needs to sell to a group that will actually attempt to win.

For those looking to go to Montreal, check round trip prices from Orlando. Air Canada has round trip tickets from $262. Much cheaper than ATL ($886). I’m flying with the wife so this is x2 for me. Using Miami has similar pricing.

Of course you have to get to Orlando. My plan is ATL to Orlando on Southwest. Stay a couple of nights at a resort. Fly one way to Montreal. And fly back from Montreal to ATL on the 11th.

The new Visa Cash App RB F1 Team (formerly Alpha Tauri) name change is getting bashed pretty hard.

The entire existence of the team should be bashed harder.

"The Visa Cash App appears to have spun in turn #8" has a certain twang to it.

"Visa Cash App RB" is far worse than "Stake Kick Sauber" because it's obvious to call the latter team just "Sauber," which is also its historical name so it feels right.

If they weren't so greedy about having multiple title sponsors, if it was just "Visa RB F1 Team," then people might have just called them "Visa" and the title sponsor would have gotten a lot more bang for the buck.

quote:

From 2024 onwards, they will be known as RB (the full team name will be Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team) marking a stronger reference to the Red Bull operation who have benefitted from bedding in a host of junior drivers with the Faenza squad.

Calling them "RB", whether verbally or written down in forums, is of course awkward because that's what we call Red Bull, and to distinguish them I guess we're supposed to call Red Bull "Red Bull" all the time now?

We should decide what we're going to call this team in this forum for consistency and ease of distinguishing them from Red Bull.

1. VCARB
2. "RB" (which forces us to always spell out "Red Bull" for the other team)
3. AlphaTauri ("AT")
4. Toro Rosso ("TR")
5. Minardi (Nice historical reference like Sauber)

Too bad we can't do polls.

Back in the old days of the Speed Channel forum we always called them TOIT... That Other Italian Team.

luckily they typically aren't good enough to be talked about a lot.

AlphaTauri scored points in four of the last five races of the season, a total of 20 points, and they are expected to improve their form, or at least hold form this season.

Especially if they can regularly score points, the Perez / Danny / Yuki / Lawson drama will be talked about a LOT.
