I find it alarming that US Senators are allowed to even invest in the options market. Should be illegal.

I'm actually shocked his estimated net worth is only $16mm. He had like a $14mm contract with Auburn fifteen years ago. Add in endorsements, and he made a pretty penny. Either that estimated net worth is way off, or he made some bad decisions along the way.

If Tuberville's net worth is only $16M after 20yrs of Head Coaching gigs, stay away from anything he's investing in.

After agent fees, taxes, etc; I bet he sees 45% of that. Say he actually got 7 million, that would be a reasonable bet worth after living expenses.

Depending on when he bought the 12/15 TSLA 190 puts and when/if he sold, it’s possible that he’s made serious bank on those. With the recent dip, those puts soared… but have since been crushed as the stock recovered with strong moves upward.

When articles like this one leave out the important details (like timing), it’s impossible to get much from them. But one thing is for certain, that seems like a very large bet on shorter dated options. His net worth means nothing in this situation. It’s the size of his trading account and available trading cash that would add context. I doubt that level of information would be known/available.

But I agree with others here: these rascals shouldn’t be allowed to trade in individual equities or derivatives. There are just too many opportunities for them to pick up information or participate in insider trading.
